20 minutes from the factory - 15 minutes on two wheels - lol.

They schedule pick up for Thursday next week. I cant get past the feeling this is someone's "refused delivery" story.

My S and X were super new - right off the line. Almost like it was 20 minutes old....

So no one has wanted this car since it was made in June? I was thinking it should be in the 65K range.
Bear in mind that June is pretty much 'yesterday' given the overwhelming number of cars that were made and suddenly deployed to Tesla delivery centers around the country. Your VIN makes perfect sense (to me). I'm seeing VINs from 28k through 56k (all with June/July build dates) in the Atlanta delivery center...dozens of them in this range...that clearly do not yet have buyers attached to them. When someone in the local area happens to order an LR that exists on a nearby delivery center lot, whammo...delivery in 4 days. Now, that does not explain why tesla.com doesn't admit to "0-4 Months" rather than "2-4 months" but it is what it is.

I was assigned a 26xxx VIN on 7/23, the day after configuring. It was to be ready for delivery the following week. We did in fact take delivery as scheduled two days ago. The car showed up and it wasn't the wrong color.

It has a build date of 06/18, as you would predict from the spreadsheet data. It was delivered with 13 miles on it (4 or 5 of which were from the delivery specialist driving it to my home from "the pier" - aka not Fremont and possibly part of a San Francisco stockpile) and with around 50% charge.

I agonized from the moment I received the VIN about it being a reject. It may have been someone's reject for some of the issues it does have. It may have been one of the vehicles that doesn't pass pre-delivery QC and needs to have something fixed. It may have been someone's reject because they wanted a different model or color. Or it may have been part of a stockpile. Who knows? Certainly there were a number of small issues with the vehicle which I detailed in another thread, but none of them were delivery deal-breakers for us. YMMV (are you allowed to say that on a car forum or am I fired?).

Of course if we get pushback from Tesla about fixing them I'd be upset but I don't expect that will be the case.

I ordered a silver RWD model 3 Tuesday night. Today they called to tell me my car would be ready Saturday.

I am worried it is someone's reject. 2-4 months turned into 4 days.

Am I paranoid?
I ordered on 7/28, they called me on 7/31 and said it would be delivered on or about 8/9. Called again today and said everything is good to go and could get it as early as 8/7. Personal scheduling conflicts make it not possible to get it until 8/11. Seems like it is common.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. I know someone who was notified by Tesla the car they ordered would be delivered in 4 days. On delivery day, they were emailed saying the wrong color was sent and maybe they’d get their car in two weeks.

To follow up, the person I mentioned in my original post was told her car was going to be delivered on 8/10. It was postponed once again.

I want to tell the delivery center, don’t call me until you can see and physically touch my car.

FYI - finally got the car yesterday. I went through it with a microscope and caliper.

The hood is a couple mils off centered (no one but me noticed) and left passenger rear wheel well liner had a loose fastener.

The rest of the car was perfect. Maybe not Honda or Toyota spec but very good. I was impressed.
Wow, it must have been brutal to have to wait so long to get the car. It's nice to see you FINALLY got it :p

Sounds like a great delivery.

What was your VIN/Manufacture date?

I know you have your car already, but just to add to the date of manufacture, I've seen cars come to the east coast within the last ~two weeks with vins at 40k (RWD 1.5 weeks ago with a manufacturer date of 7/18) and 55k (AWD today 8/11 not sure of the DOB), your VIN looks just right for a build date of about 7/25-27. That along with your delivery timing and I'm sure it's not a reject by anyone, you just ordered the right car at just the right time! -- Peter

My S is super new and has many paint issues so it could be someone turned it down and trying to flip it on you. Just go over the paint carefully before you sign.

Ah, that doesn't seem to explain why my VIN is 444xx, with a build date of 6/2018 and delivery on July 3rd at Fremont. Maybe because of the color (MSM)? I also didn't order EAP or FSD and have the standard Aero wheels if that makes any difference.
