5-10 Minutes for Instruction on New Delivery????

You DO NOT use AP "to slalom through the mass of cars on the road."
Yes, Geez indeed.

Read my post. I didn’t say to use AP to slalom through cars, just to understand how to use AP. Haha, despite the warm weather, I do slalom through traffic in Naples (I doubt you’ll get that).

My original post remains—there was no need for your snappiness to the potential new owner. But then again, looking at your tag line I get it.

Carry on....

I went through this process with a model 3 delivery yesterday at Marina Del Rey. Here seem to be the new order of operations:

1. About a week before your delivery I was invited to a "New Owners Workshop" -- this is after deliveries end for a day and it's two hours for you to explore everything and ask questions with all the delivery specialists there to help (there were about 10 - 20 owners at my event). They had a stationary 3 and X in showroom mode to demo things on.
2. The "5 - 10 minutes" covers doing the paperwork, pairing your phone with the car, and taking your delivery photo
3. They bring the car around to the parking lot where there's another person there to answer any questions you have and walk you through anything you need help with for as long as you need.

The only part they tried to rush me through was the inside part because they needed to prep the next round of deliveries.

I find that buying an electric car is a total trip for attention whores (myself included). I mean, you get a HOV lane-sticker, you get a federal rebate, hopefully, a state rebate, maybe even a utility rebate (PG&E is $500 one-time; in San Diego its $200/year until they end the program!) At my work you can park at the charging stations late in the morning when all the regular spots are gone! I am amazed that people buy/lease a new electric car every 3 years "Just to get the sticker" (as some say). But, Tesla was not founded with an intention to make rich-man's-cars forever; they are growing up, and have to make money. I still feel like there is really nothing competitive in the market at ANY PRICE for the cars that Tesla makes. They are past the "word of mouth" phase of their life. They no longer have to bend over backwards to make each and every customer 100% happy in every detail.

We are currently waiting for our Model X, ordered end of June. We went by the Tesla store today because we wanted to specifically look at a couple things. The salesman proceeded to inform us that we no longer receive an hour orientation on our new Model X, we will get 5-10 minutes. The reason given was "due to the increase in Model 3 deliveries". He then proceeded to let us know if we wanted to schedule time with them after we take delivery, they would be glad to come out to our car and spend some time with us.

I'm a little... miffed... for lack of a better word. I'm spending over $100k on this vehicle and you're going to give me 10 minutes? Because of the Model 3? What kind of customer service is that? I have serious concerns and this is a red flag for me. Luckily, we were able to have it over night but we've never seen the app, barely scratched the surface, and I get 10 minutes? Is it just me? Has anyone else dealt with this or heard about this?

Thanks!

In the 7 weeks between me placing my order and getting my car I watched every youtube video on my car and browsed these forums religiously. By the time I sat in the car, I pretty much knew how it worked.

Amazing people spend $100k on a car and dont even do one iota of research on it. At least they offered to come out to your car AFTER delivery to show you things. Your APP won't even be available for the first few hours of ownership as the system needs time to update.
