Tried this already. I actually do it after every update. Just got the scroll wheel update a few days ago.May also want to try clearing the cache on your Tesla browser and even restarting the MCU on the Tesla (hold down both scroll wheels).
Can you link which vendor from Aliexpress you bought from? Lots of sketchy vendors there. Ordered what I thought was a T2C, but it was a much cheaper android device which costs more to ship back than I bought it for.
I’d be interested to see if hotspot mode is just as stable as well.So today I tested it on a couple of long drives and it still worked flawlessly. No hicups or disconnections. Next I will test the hotspot mode and then I will test drive the T1 for a couple of days to see if it works as well.
I’ve experienced some lag on the Ownice as well with Waze. Try turning off Auto zoom in the Waze Map Settings. Mine works perfectly since I turned that off.Ordered a T2C and used it for the first time yesterday. It’s horrible. I use my iPhone hotspot.
Constant disconnects, which does auto connect. It’s laggy. When in Waze, there is a huge delay compared to where my current position is. Screen going unresponsive to registering what I tapped on up to a minute later. Has anyone experience this?
I’m thinking of getting the Ownice to test.

Can you just leave the hotspot enabled all the time?Automation using iPhone shortcuts. When CarPlay connects set personal hotspot. Hot spot name and password is stored on Ownice.

I never saw it connect unless I opened hotspot each time so that’s why I made the automation.
Would be great if you could start a new thread on the Ownice and put in your setup steps/hints/automation. Getting mine in a couple weeks and looking forward to it.
I can change the thread title of this one, but we are not going to have multiple threads on these things.
I think that is a good idea to change the name of this thread to have all "Tesla CarPlay and Android Auto Devices" discussions besides the Tesla Android Project that has its own thread.
