I was scheduled to pick up my MS this past Saturday, but with Elon's announcement on AP 2.0 I cancelled the order, took the $2500 hit and reordered the same car, but this one with AP 2.0. (I plan on owning my MS, not leasing it. I may have decided otherwise if I planned on leasing). Any other folks out there who did the same?

I'm not in this boat but was it a painless process or did they try to convince you to stick with taking delivery of your original order?

Actually, they were great. Since leasing isn't the right choice for me, they pretty much agreed that buying one of the last AP 1.0 cars probably wasn't a smart decision.

Great to hear! What is the estimated delivery date on your new build?

Same here. I had ordered a brand new 75D inventory car with a significant discount at the end of Q3. Was supposed to pick up last Thursday morning but then canceled when new AP hardware was announced the night before. Lost a $1k deposit because it was an inventory car and not a new build.

Still within the 7 day window, so no delivery date yet. OA said it will show as late December/early January, but given the push at year end will likely be December. I hope so!

I was supposed to take delivery Friday but cancelled to reorder with AP 2.0 I imagine many are in the same boat.

Generally no, but some people have said they were able to.

I'm debating cancelling my delivery too. Why lease at top dollar?

I can see both viewpoints. I'm getting what I ordered.

If true, I wonder what Elon thinks of this practice. Is this considered giving a discount?

They can sell these to the folks that delayed their orders and don't want the AP 2 upgrades.

I was scheduled to get my Tesla S in December. I made this late delivery because of AP 2.0 rumors directly after order (same day). My car is still in production according to my Tesla status. But my sales person checked it and it is already produced with AP 1.0 hardware. I canceled of course but I am upset about this so I might not order a new one :(

It's frustrating to miss out on the latest hardware without a discount. I'm tempted to keep my Mercedes.

Wonder how much revenue boost Tesla will recognize just for cancelled orders?

Make that clear. Tell them you will re-order if your deposit is applied towards the new car. If not, you are moving on.

I suspect they will lose a lot more on the loss in value for all of their AP1 inventory cars and the rejected AP1 cars. They are losing more than $2,500 in value on each of those. They probably will have to discount AP1 cars by more than $2,500 to move them.
