Anyone received delivery of 2019 'Raven' Refresh?

Wow so sad to see these type of QA issues. I do agree on previous posts that when you receive a great car you won’t see those posts but when it’s bad it’s bad and you’ll see all sorts of posts. Just check BMW, Acura, Mercedes, they too suffer issues. This is no excuse though for what you are experiencing and I too would want to return it.

I received both a new Performance Raven Model X and my son took delivery within two weeks of ours, a Long Range Model 3. Zero defects on the Model 3 and on mine I had a scratch on the plastic trim above the license plate that was done when they were polishing the vehicle which was quickly fixed with a service visit. Also a cosmetic issue on one of the rear seat (six seater) where they will be replacing the seat. But beyond that my Raven X is awesome! I had it wrapped and ceramic coated. Just love the ride and performance of it. Fit and finish is great.

I do agree that you will be waiting on Tesla to reimburse you since I’m still waiting on a reimbursement check since I overpaid them. Took delivery on the 29th of May.

I even got to experience Tesla’s excellent Mobile service where they came to me. Not very many companies do that. Plus, on my last service center visit they gave me a loaner while I waited for them to replace the plastic trim.

The only problem after now owning a Tesla is that I now want to replace my other ICE car. Looking at Model S next. Can’t see getting anything but electric.

glad you received a great experience and a virtually flawless model X and 3. Did you reference any of my pictures in the link to see if you have similar issues or maybe completely absent on yours?

Model X issues

Well if thats the case, then I guess I'll be forced to keep the car until the repairs are satisfactory. I know the service center is pretty bad about reviewing the repairs before notifying the customers, its just really bad and i'm prepping myself for a really bad experience. Not because i've read or heard it, but because I already experience it with my S and 3. Elon Musk really needs to do something about this.

Part of the problem is that if you have a loan very few banks will let you change the collateral to new vehicle. So you have to pay off the one loan and apply for a new one.

I contacted my lender to see what they say. But unfortunately it does seem like i'll have to keep it, and then keep the service appt already set, wait maybe 3 weeks for the repairs and then another 2 weeks after rejecting the first repair. Likely reasons for rejecting are that no one at tesla service inspects the repair to see if all have been address and repaired correctly from bodyshop, 2nd is that in my experience my car comes back in worse condition such as chips, scratches and dirty repair scraps left behind, and 3rd this has happened to me twice.

did you go to costa mesa service center? They just handed that to you for all the inconveniences from the due bill / delivery date?

picked my car up at costa mesa delivery center. pretty much yeah since they took a couple of days to fix my brand new car. didn't even know they were going to give me free stuff, just got a call from the specialist that was helping me that my car is fixed and ready for pick up and that they left a gift inside the car for me.

Im surprised you picked up at the delivery center and not a few doors down at the service center. Ive been communicating with the specialist Frankee at the delivery center to confirm my repairs for next week. Im certain ill have to get it at the service center where they wont have all the goodies like the delivery center. I may have to inquire for those lol

i thought i would have to bring it at the service center as well but their delivery team told me that since it was a new delivery they try to fix it there first then if their team can't fix it, then that's the time that they will bring the car at the service center. most of my issues was minor anyway the only major was the autopilot which they had to replace.

the freebies definitely try to ask. didn't ask for any and they still gave me those free stuff, so you never know, they might give you more free stuff if you ask.

That really sucks. I am so sorry this has been such a massive hassle. You could always try tweeting at Elon about your experience and try to draw more attention to the issue. The customers are the best ambassadors to the brand and product. Tesla needs to get their quality assurance way up to ensure we can consistently show a positive user experience.

Is there noone you can escalate to?
Its really sad to hear this on a car that has such a price tag and has so much "Looking forward to" from the owners

As far as I'm aware, its just your "Lead Vehicle Readiness Specialist" -(actual title). Despite me CC'ing the delivery specialist that did the walk through on delivery day, the delivery center and service center, the LVRS is the only one that responded multiple times back and forth confirming the issues and notating it on my file.

Also I think one should be very proactive about the repairs on the due bill or even post delivery within warranty. For me, i've experienced enough dissatisfaction and miscommunication that I uploaded all my issues to photobucket and provided Tesla with the link. Then I asked my LVRS to confirm the pictures to the due bill to make sure its all there because some of the descriptions they use is vague to me. And by having this confirmed via email is on record that they acknowledge and accept the issue for repair. Another step I did was request that someone in service center confirm all the repairs were done correctly before notifying me that the car is ready for pick up. Past experience proves they don't do this step and I had to reject my M3 twice. Its a big headache planning out your day and the loaner especially if you're with a significant other or family.

I just did tweet Elon, also used #teslaserviceissues, #teslapaintissues, #teslaqualityissues . A lot of tweets are circulating on these tags

I find it odd that people tweet to the CEO of Tesla rather than going up the chain of escalation. In every other case for service issues -- be it cell phones, cable TV, other tech/car products, people tweet at the company and a rep triages these things. Having Elon work your car issue is a complete distraction from what he is supposed to be doing.

All that said, It's Elon's fault for selectively responding to some issues and enabling this behavior. Just strange that Tesla love/hate is so focused on Elon. I couldn't tell you who the CEO of Audi nor Ford are, and I've had plenty of issues with both -- just managed through the process.
