Anyone received delivery of 2019 'Raven' Refresh?

Same here. The MX has been in production since what? 2015 and you would think that Tesla has these issues addressed. Guess not.

I would imagine that they will continue to deliver crap quality as long as people still accept them. The more people decline delivery, the more they will be incentivized to ensure they are as close to perfect as they can make them before delivering them.

what would you consider tolerable measurement of misaligned FWD trim? If you suggest returning it will tesla try to reorder a new one without hassle?

Regarding tolerance, it would be hard to come up with a number. Maybe +3 mm difference in chrome trim? My trim is worse relative to the post above, but it was par for the course at the time of purchase in 2017. I did a chrome delete to hide the misalignment, so its not a huge issue now.

The best approach to identifying issues is to show up a day (or earlier if possible) before your scheduled delivery to preview the car. At this time you can also look at other Model X cars to compare. Use the checklist posted in the forums to review the car. Come up with a list of stuff to fix and give it to your OA. See if they can fix by delivery. If not, within the return window. If they can't fix within the return window, you will have to make a choice.

Regarding refusal at deliver or a return, Tesla will try to either due bill it (at delivery) or have service fix the items. I would guess refusal at delivery would be harder than a return, but I have not done either. If you do a return, Tesla will take at least a month to return your money. I am sure they will allow you to reorder at that time.

Model X is the most complicated car Tesla makes. Elon has mentioned that they probably made it with too many features, which make it difficult to produce.

Over attention to the precision of panel gaps misses the point of the vehicle.

I know of no other manufacturer in the world that makes motorized, multi-articulated Falcon Wing doors that have more precision.

On the other hand it is an amazing vehicle that delights me every time I take it for a ride.

Showed my after dinner party of 10 the dancing/light show in the restaurant parking lot. Nobody cared a bit about panel gaps :) It was the entertainment hit of the evening.

Agree and disagree.

Beautiful vehicle: Yes
Technologically advanced vehicle: Yes

But those 2 things cannot be an excuse for things like big panel gaps or such things as the cost of such a vehicle is too high.
It's the smallest of the details that a customer expects for such a money.

I donot want to compare it to any other manufacture, as such things are unacceptable from any company.

That is fair. Tesla is not for everyone. Folks love Aston Martins but sometimes get buyer's remorse because of some of the fit and finish issues. Of course that is hand made car.

It really comes down to what you value and if fit and finish is paramount, you would likely be better served by a traditional, more mature, automaker.

I was able to view it the day before and bring up a list along with images of the issues. Some they tried to take care of before delivery. Others wouldn't be possible without a tech or body work on paint. I used the list from another post and did nearly 1 hr inspection myself which probably concerned the specialist waiting for me to go over paperwork but being my 3rd Tesla, I was very thorough to prevent disappointment after driving off. Essentially my due bill list is 15 items, some were just paint transfers that can be buffed out, others involved misalignment/fitment, chrome trim issues and even areas that weren't painted properly. It all does raise concern and question how and if anybody is actually assigned to quality control. I'll post up pics of what i found during inspection so others have a visual of what to look for.

I got extremely lucky. I ordered a Model X on Monday (8/12) - Long Range / MSM / 7-seats / Black interior / 20" wheels. Tuesday morning, I changed the interior color to the cream seats w/Oak after I convinced myself it would be OK with my kids if I treated it with the CQuartz leather/vinyl protector. A couple of hours later, that exact config popped up as new inventory in Fremont (which is close to me). I immediately contacted my advisor and he got that car assigned to my order. Tuesday evening I got a call to schedule delivery which will be on Friday at my home.

To anybody with an outstanding order, I'd recommend regularly searching local inventory to see if your desired config shows up.

Anybody have experience inspecting and reporting due bill items on a home delivery?

I ordered 7/27 got confirmation on 7/29 then a call on 8/8 that my car is ready for delivery. never got a VIN until i got the car.

quick update on my car. talked to tesla delivery yesterday and told them that if they couldn't schedule me earlier for service then i would return the car today since i was still with in the 7 day return period, but was quickly called this morning to bring my car in so they could fix it. brought it in at 11am and was told by 3pm everything will be fixed so they called me an uber so i can go where ever, 3pm came and was told every thing else got fixed except for the autopilot and to give them another 1-2hrs. 5pm got a call that they still couldn't fix autopilot and some how my car was rejecting all the updates they are doing. so they gave me a loaner Model S which was nice and told me they will give me an update tomorrow morning. hopefully they could fix it by then, i'm just glad the person helping me was very nice and gave me updates every hour on what is happening on my car.
