Thank you all for the "Cactus" recommendations. As my P85 showed up 3 days early - 5pm TODAY! - I've got to make an appointment asap.

Tried writing a long "my story", but as long essays and iPhones don't mix, it got all jumbled. This forum's likely the better for all that.....

I gotta think that the current info from the people at the Hilton Garden Inn is better than the permit that was issued months ago from the city council.

Mark, the post indicates the permit was only approved on 10/10 (2 days ago). So, if the Hilton's comment was from a week ago, perhaps they thought it was cuz the permit was in limbo. So, I 'll give them a few days and then check back with Hilton to see if the permit's approval means that the installation may now begin - or if there was some other delay.

Trying to be optimistic.

I talked to the service center yesterday and sounds like they are moving into the new Scottsdale Airpark location in a week or so. Just an FYI!

I had my car in on Wed Oct 9 to fix some delivery issues that were pending parts... They started moving that evening and had no services scheduled Thurs and yesterday so they could complete the move.

I drove by the new location an hour or so ago and the ranger truck is out back, and a T logo on the front door. Nicholas said the signs are still not up -- so will soft open first and then have a grand opening once the signs are up...

I drove by the new Service Center location in Scottsdale yesterday and there were loaner cars outside (three of them that I saw). I didn't go inside or check to see if they were really open for business yet. This location is about 200 yards south of the Costco on Raintree and Hayden.

Looks like you drove by late afternoon. We drove by late morning -- and the sign wasn't up yet...

I was inside this service center while under construction a few weeks ago. It's huge on the inside. The size is very deceiving from the outside. The entry point for cars is around back, although they will probably be the ones to drive our cars around there if they need service. Two story ceilings inside most of it as well. I hope it opens soon! The Phoenix Service team needed a great location and one commensurate with the name Tesla.

change of subj: see Tesla Supercharging network thread for an update on the Yuma AZ superchargers.

Has anyone done a drive to Flagstaff from Phx or the East Valley yet? It appears the charging options are lite in the Flagstaff and Sedona regions. Those would be great day trip/weekend drives with the Model S and very reachable in terms of milage. Just wanted to see what you guys think

I did the trip in 60 and had to charge on my way up. I charged at RV park and guy asked me for $20 for 1 hr. I suggest charging for at least 2 hrs because my door to door distance was 156 miles and I had to drive at 30 miles an hr for last 30 miles to reach my destination. Then I charged it overnight at the house we were staying and o way down, no charging was needed. It was all downhill and smooth!!

If going from the EAst Valley, I can understand that. If I ever did that, I'd do a top-off charge at the Anthem Outlets Blink stations (assuming they are still operational) while I shopped for a couple hours. Should be enough to get there then.

Just curious... Which RV park?

The Anthem Blinks were working as of last weekend... They've been de-rated though, so were charging at 12-14 rMPH... I'd also plan to stop there on the way up, although the RV park in Camp Verde near Cliff Castle Casino may be a good option if they had a reasonable rate (even $10 for 2 hours would be fine by me...).

There's a newish RV park in Cordes Junction, too. Walking distance to a McDonald's and other fast-food places to eat. If anyone tries it, post your experience here. I'm in Prescott, and it would make a huge difference doing Phoenix-Prescott in a 60. If I have the occasion to do it first myself, I'll post results.

I am seeing more and more Teslas on the road here in the valley. I passed another MC Red in central Phoenix yesterday with the plate TESLA85, I gave him the hang ten salute! I've seen three Model S vehicles and one Roadster so far, yet only one Nissan Leaf in the same period of time. I've seen probably as many Teslas as Volts.

I see at least 2 other MS's a day. Just last week a guy with the exact same model as me weaved through traffic to pull up next to me and say hi.

I just had a pleasant chat with Jerry at the Cordes Junction RV park. They have regular NEMA 14-50 outlets and he is amenable to Tesla owners utilizing them. Tentative charge will be $10/hr. Be sure to bring your cable(s). Perhaps a Phoenix or Tucson area owner on their way up to Flagstaff, the Canyon, or points north could stop in for a try-out and report back. There is a 50's-themed diner on site that would obviously be a nice place to grab a coffee or a bite to eat while charging. Jerry actually has relatives working at the Fremont plant and is more than nominally familiar with the car (i.e., he wants one).

While it's not a supercharger, this option should make travel from the south to Prescott, etc., a lot more convenient, especially for anyone (like myself) with a 60.

Yuma AZ.. no progress on the construction site as of early AM today 10-28-13. The permit was approved on 9-20-13. Yuma City Hall IS the best resource for info.. they still have the permit! The construction crew must have other jobs ahead of the supercharger installation. I'm sure it is coming soon, just never soon enough for us owners:)! Yuma City Hall and the Hilton Garden are just blocks from each other..5 minute walk. I see over on TM that only 3 are under construction... hummm.... I'll bet there are more we just do not know about yet:(. Personally I'm focused on the Buckeye, Blythe, Indio and Ontario, the Phoenix AZ supercharger connection to L.A., The Bay Area, and Vancouver, B.C. The Yuma supercharger will make San Diego effortless in an 85 sooo maybe that will have to be my California route until the AZ-CA Interstate 10 corridor opens up to supercharging. I'd really like to see the "Ocean to Ocean" interstate 10 route open in 2014. Gateways to Texas, Florida and the interstate 95 corridor! ......... well,... all in good time! Tesla Supercharging network thread for major postings!!

Great info -- thanks!
