Not worth delaying for a potential tax credit. Likely end up Getting your order cancelled and pay higher prices anyway. Not a chance I would delay if I had already waited a year.

while waiting for MY, I had to purchase another car. I had also messaged my SA end of July asking if my order can be put on hold. He replied that is possible but since VIN has not been assigned, there is nothing to do at this time. Now with the tax credit back in play, i want to see it that passes and if possible push my order out.
If you are trying to delay all the way to Jan 1st for the potential tax credit I don't think there is any way you could pull that off. Tesla is not allowing multiple holds on orders. They seem to allow one hold for about a month but after that will email you and threaten to cancel your order if you don't take delivery. You can reject the VIN but most get a new VIN within a few weeks. Let us know what your SA says about this if you try to hold...will be interested to know if there is leniency to hold all the way to Jan. From everything I've read, I seriously doubt it.

Are you using Tesla financing? what is today's rate?
Mine is also set to cash but am planning to use third party financing. Anyone kwon if i have to let Tesla know about this?

4.25% was their guess. I will know more once they fully process it and give me the bank name.

In the VIN there is an identifier before the serial number A for Austin F fro Fremon, the proposed tax credit would be effective 1/1/23 not retroactive for 2022.
Thanks for clarification. Bummer the tax credit isn’t for 2022 ..
probably not. Waiting for my SA's reply. i'm guessing that would mean no structural battery pack. Hopefully it should have both front and rear casting

So far only 4680 cars are standard range and not available as new from tesla.
I finally got my VIN! OD was 8/16/21
Anyone know how long from factory it takes to get to Saint Louis? I got the text it departed from factory on Sunday August 7. Right now it says my EDD is 18-22 of August.
Since they go on 8 vehicle semis, they wait to fill a truck going to your deliver center. So your car might be done, but a couple more need to be finished. Then they have to have an available driver.
