Autfold mirror protocol

Hi - first post here.

Has anyone figured out the settings required so that if the mirrors are folded using the middle mirror button - that the car does not then auto-unfold when unlocking. My previous (British) cars did this.

I'm afraid there a mini-disaster awaiting me if I forget to press the mirror fold button when exiting my tight garage.

Here, in the US, my Model X mirrors stay folded until I go over 10 mph if I push the button to fold them to enter my garage. If I don't hit the button, they fold and unfold automatically when turning of and on.

PS: My 2014 Model S did not automatically fold or unfold the mirrors.

Thanks. Perhaps it's a new feature. Would never have needed it back in Texas, but certainly do for my 7' wide garage door here. Just going to turn off the auto-fold for now.

The mirrors interest me.
Have a Model X loaner this weekend and 'Mirror Auto Fold' is set to on. Not once have they folded in on locking the car. When will they actually retract?

Well, with auto fold on, they're supposed to retract automatically when the car is locked, and then unfold upon unlocking and opening a door.

Which makes perfect sense and would be what I'd expect. And yet, car is locked, and there they are sticking out!
Does the mirror folding button need to be pushed in?

My mid-2016 Model X mirrors fold and unfold automatically when the car turns off and on. If I push the button to fold they stay folded and do not unfold when the car turns. They only unfold over 10 mph if I have pushed the button to fold them!
