Auto Wipers are awful

I also wonder why this hasn't been fixed by now, it is simply dangerous to engage autopilot in winter because of the wipers going into auto (aka crazy, stupid) mode.

... I think it has something to do with the conditions in California. Wipers must not really be an important part of a car there.

Hasn't rained all week. Went for a drive last night and the wipers decided to dry wipe as some oncoming traffic was coming.

Somehow it thought headlights was rain. Absolute madness.

I wish someone would try to fit a rain sensor and hack the firmware to use that instead.

Conditions in Southern California are very similar to here in South Wales. Except the rainfall in California is concentrated into 20 days a year, not 300. No wonder wipers are either "off" or "maniac".

The wipers have definitely improved over the last 12 months but they are still crap. It’s an example of Tesla trying to reinvent the wheel and failing abysmally.

They have behaved better over the last few days...Having said that, they seems to improve once every year...as the days get longer...

Give it another 10 minutes or an hour and they’ll be as crap as they ever were.
