All,

My cheap-o Federal 595Rs-Pros in 275/35R19 only have maybe a couple more events.

Definitely stepping up to I expect some RE71RSs.

Question: Should I go down to 265/35R19 on my current 19x9.5s, OR stick with 275/35R19 and go to a 19x10.5 (Probably Konig Dekagrams)?

Would going to a 285 on a 19x11 be worth it?

You planning on cutting your fenders or shaving your uprights? If not, 11s won't work.
You could go 275s on 19x10.5 easily enough.

When I look at TireRack's site, the RE71RS size availability does not show 265/35/R19; just 275/35R19 and 285/35/R19.

@gearchruncher @MasterC17

I remember MasterC17 reporting his car drove better on the 275s once he went up to a 10.5 wheel, but I don’t recall if he actually got faster because of the change.

But, bottom line, if I am already having issues with tread temps, then it seems valuable to go wider (and not shorter, either). That said, understanding the performance gains by keeping the wheel around 10% wider than the tread width, I don’t have too many options above 275.

There's a noticeable increase in steering response and sidewall stiffness on 275's vs 305's on the same wheels, IMO.

That being said, I don't have direct laptime data. Tire Rack did, however, do a good test using the same basic concept, and more rim for the same tire is generally faster.

I've seen multiple 3s with 11s on stock body work now. The SSP car at spring nats was rumored to have 12s in the rear.
The rears are/were never the issue. It's always the fronts. Like I said, your either shaving the upright or cutting/pulling fenders. You can't fit a 18x 11" without it. Maybe possibly running 19x11 with a very short 25"ish tire. Maybe.
The only other potential alternative is using a MY front upright. I've heard 2nd hand there's more clearance going that route, but haven't seen it yet.

For the rears, I could see 12s with 335 fitting without much work.

This weekend I'll see if I can throw on a 18x11 with 315s up front.

Of note, I was talking about 19x11, not 18x11.

So, if you guys were splurging for a possible trip to the Nats, would you go for 295/30/18 Yoks with 98XL load rating, 25.1" diameter, 26lbs per tire, 11.2" tread width, or 295/35/18 Yoks with 103XL rating, 26.2" diameter, 27lbs per tire, 11" tread width?
