We discussed that earlier. It is not so tiny; it can cause catastrophic accidents. Manhole covers are prevalent in every major city with underground utility infrastructure.

I meant tiny in optics, but still a massive issue to solve. As evidenced above by your two clips, most people aren't thinking of them when driving.

It is cool that the NN "learned" to slow down for crosswalks without needing any heuristic code. Maybe I am nitpicking. I get that it is important to be cautious around crosswalks but should the car phantom brake like that? I hope it does not phantom brake for every crosswalk. Hopefully it is just slowing down due restricted visibility at the crosswalk.

In a big push towards an autonomous future, Mobileye's fully autonomous no-driver system (also known as L4) has been announced for in-traffic testing in Germany. The Mobileye Drive™ platform was introduced by the country’s Deutsche Bahn (DB) aboard six on-demand shuttles (with no passengers at this point) in Darmstadt and Offenbach in the Rhine-Main area. The KIRA project, as it's called, plans to utilize Mobileye Drive to expand on-demand shuttle service, and to further include rural areas into the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) service area.
