Autopilot question on lane position.

hi folks
Recently added basic autopilot to my model S.
When driving on the motorway I’ve noticed my car sits closer to the left of the lane I’m driving in and not in the centre.is this normal?
Makes overtaking large trucks a little unsettling.just a little too close for comfort.
Do I need it recalibrated at a service centre?

I’ve got exactly the same problem. I took it to SC who had it for the day and they did some recalibration but it’s still the same.

Makes it almost unusable and like you say very scary when passing lorries or cars who are to the right of their lanes!

I’ve had a loan car and this was the same too. Makes me think they all do it.

Yup same here. I had a whole lot of phantom braking when coming round the M25 the other day (I think between junctions 25-24 which appears to me to be a little narrower). I put the sudden braking down to the car thinking it was too close to others.

Is this AP1? I’m on AP1 and it usually starts a little left but after a minute moves dead centre and stays that way. Just sharing for a balanced view.

This has been my experience on AP1 hardware cars too.

My AP2.5 Model X drives dead centre in motorway lanes. In some earlier software versions it would tend to sit nearer the left side, but I haven't had that for ages.

Thanks for that information.
Mines is a AP2 version.
I wonder if it would be possible to have an option in the future to tweak the lane positioning by a small amount.
