I only have Autopilot safety features (so no real AP) however I do have HW 3.0 upgrade. Will I get the trial FSD that’s going around? Or no since I don’t even have basic AP

Don’t know if mine supports fsd. Technically yea but I can’t subscribe to it on the app unless I pay $3k for basic. Wondering if it’ll skip over that for the trial since I do have the hardware for it.

Every Model 3 is capable of running FSD. When you say you have the HW3 upgrade, do you mean your car was upgraded from HW2.5 to HW3 at some point, or did it come with HW3 initially?

Basic Autopilot is great. It came free with most cars. I thought it came free with all cars???? Enhanced Autopilot is now $6K, which is ridiculous. FSD is now $12K which is also very pricey. Are you certain you don't have basic autopilot. Go to the car screen, you have to turn it on.Hope so, it’s just throwing me off since I never had basic autopilot and still don’t. Basic Autopilot became standard in early 2019. It was optional for earlier cars. Even when it became standard, I think there was a particular Model 3 configuration that didn't include it for some period of time, SR maybe?
I'm still trying to understand how the OP got a free upgrade to HW3 without FSD. I thought Tesla was still charging for those upgrades if you didn't buy FSD.
I think they are, I just asked for a complimentary upgrade from 2.5 to 3.0 and they did it
. I got the idea from a thread here and saw a ton of other people who also got it for free. Only 1 or 2 didn’t so it might depend on the service center.

I got the free FSD trial!
Late last night I was notified of a software update. I updated the car's software to 2024.3.10 following the download. Then I got an email from Tesla saying that it had granted me FSD for 30 days trial. It also added Summon to my phone's app.
Wow! I'm excited to give this a whirl.

Welp I got it! Been using it all day, no basic autopilot and still got it. Drove up to Wawa and got a scratcher which won $600 
. Gonna be a good month.
