Have to hold steering while quite tight. Have a while need to change hands causes discomfort. Pressure hand grip needed is uncomfortable
Has any one had similar experience .. can hand pressure be adjusted ( probably not ) bumm
I sometimes have my hand in my lap, holding on the the bottom of the wheel. Sometimes I rest my left elbow on the window edge and my hand on the wheel. However, it did take a few tries until I figured out what was too much or not enough.
are you trying to have constant pressure so you never get an alert? I quit doing that a long time ago. Unless I'm approaching a situation where I think AP might have an issue or I might need to take over I usually have my arms in my lap with my hands lightly touching the wheel, tugging it now and again as needed.
It's not so much "grip" that the wheel needs, but torque. It needs about 15 oz. of weight to not trigger the "apply slight torque" to the steering wheel.
Right. It's not a capacitve "grip" sensor. It's a torque sensor. Just need to be tugging on the wheel.
Alternatively, you can flick the speed increase or volume increase jog wheels up and down one click quickly and that will register your presence to keep the nanny at bay.
