Very quick question. Can you enable basic autopilot on city streets or do you have to be on a highway? I am speaking about the autopilot feature that comes on ALL teslas now. NOT ENHANCED, AND NOT FSD. Thank you!

You can enable it anywhere with well demarcated lane lines or edges

Yes, but it doesn't obey stop signs or red lights.

With tacc and a vehicle in front (not on auto steer) autopilot sort of works. Will need to disengage at stop signs and traffic lights if not following another vehicle. Speed adjustment with respect to speed limit signs appears to require touch on the Touchscreen or long press the right stalk. So passing school speed limit zone will require an AP speed reset.

I have FSD as a 3 months trial with my car so I'm not sure. Once my car goes back to no FSD and no advanced XYZ, will it have at least TACC with autosteer like the old AP1 cars?

All Teslas, except cybertruck, come with AP and TACC at no extra charge.

It's not fun to to start and stop basic autopilot on city streets. It could be dangerous if it runs the red lights. Use at your own risk.

Yeah, AP off the freeway on back roads let alone city streets is quite sketchy. It gets anxious and nervous often, shuts off AP on a whim, messes up if the lane lines are faded, etc. Skip it IMHO.
