Once you have the autopilot hardware + 7.0 is the HUD stuck permantely like this?
HUD stands for "Heads Up Display" which is this Head-up display - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Tesla does not offer such a display.
I assume you are referring to the display screen in front of the driver, which is located below to upper flat surface of the dashboard.
A HUD would be a projected display shown above the dashboard in the windshield area.
