Best tire pressure for max grip on street

2023 M3P with stock Pirellis:
What is the best PSI for spirited driving on the street? The factory recommended 42 psi seems too high since it climbs to 45-46 when warm. Taking a hit on range is fine with me. My biggest concern is uneven tire wear if I drop the tire pressure too much.
Anyone with real world experience?

Depending on your alignment not necessarily uneven tire wear. Just faster overall tire wear and less range. I don't worry too much if the pressures climb to 45-46 psi at temperature as it's pretty normal with my performance model. When tiremakers declare a max cold pressure of 50 psi it doesn't mean the tire's going to blow up at 51 psi.

The reason the tire pressure is 42 psi is because the car is heavy, fill to the recommended cold tire pressure. Then regularly rotate your tires as is recommended by the tire manufacturer, not as Tesla suggests.

PS4S is the correct tire.

Beyond that, your alignment is the biggest contributor to tire wear. Namely toe.

Agree, especially with a new car. Don’t assume Tesla did a good job on the alignment.

42psi really has more to do with load rating and efficiency.
38 is closer to where you'd want to be for performance. But even at that, there's no one pressure that's best.

For alignment, max negative camber, whatever that is for your car, and zero toe. Unless you are ultra competitive at autox or track, that recommendation would still be the same if you've dumped thousands into your suspension.

Those tires only exist on paper in the US as far as I can tell.

My F150 is 50% heavier and only calls for 36psi cold. The 42psi recommendation is purely for range.

I did some informal testing and found ~38 WARM gave the best grip and feel. That equates to 35-36 cold. I didn't try going any lower.
