Burnout mode?

There was another video a while back (Sep/Oct last year) that made the rounds soon after the release of the firmware that allowed wheel size configuration.

It showed a procedure that involved toggling the wheel color via the GUI that triggered a glitchy reset and which put the car in a all-nanny-systems' off mode.

If this unintentional/intentional glitch still works, it should result in above (temp until next hard reset).

Glitch enables the ability to do doughnuts and burnouts and drifts...

As Generator said above, anyone can get the same result by unplugging the wheel sensor. What is unique is that they have some way to remotely disconnect and reconnect the sensor. Pretty cool to not have to crawl under there to do it manually every time.

That said, the driver is obviously an experienced drifer. Cool stuff.

I think it’s fake. Looks like they’re using the web browser and have coded up a simple graphical switch, but a real physical switch somewhere out of shot will be doing the disconnection.

This was my guess as well. Just had a cursory glance through the unofficial Tesla API documentation and found no API commands that could disable the traction control.

If their on-screen switch is real, they have it hooked into some sort of LTE-enabled smart-switch, and the switch on their screen triggers that smart-switch which disconnects the sensor.
