Yesterday too - I find it quite remarkable, even though it's a peak figure. Wind energy usually doesn't regularly contribute such significant amounts [and doesn't come close to Texas' roughly 21GW of installed capacity]. See:


Current Renewables 13343 MW

Percentage of load being served by renewables 51%

Current Solar: 8021 MW
Current Wind: 3541 MW

The mid-west would have hit ~50% wind if it wasn't for curtailment. Not sure what's bottlenecking the wind farms or if the grid operators are throwing a bone to coal :(
