Important Information from the State of California

Funding is currently exhausted. All applications submitted after June 10th, 2016 will be placed on a rebate waitlist. Payment of rebates is contingent upon the project receiving more funding. Rebates will be paid if funding becomes available. Applicants will be notified by email regarding the status of their application."

While $2,500 isn't the largest factor when purchasing a $35K vehicle, it definitely is something to be aware of.

Over the last few years, this has happened a couple of times. In this case, the state budget was passed before the deadline and some unfinished business was left. When this has happened in the past, they have always built a waiting list and then paid out the rebate when the funds became available, and I'm assuming this time will be no different.

Woohoo! I just received an email today that funds will be dispersed this December...

The Clean Vehicle Rebate Project is glad to inform you that your rebate, which was placed on a waitlist due to the exhaustion of CVRP funds earlier this year, will be paid in the coming months. New funding was approved for CVRP in September 2016, and we expect to receive funds and begin issuing rebate checks in December 2016. Your rebate will be paid as soon as possible after funds are available, and you will receive an email notification when we mail your check.

Funds are again available. I uploaded my e-files to support my application which was accepted for the "S" I purchased last month. Like the M3, the wait begins for the rebate.
