Seriously, as said here. A cap over an exposed screw or stud. Sometimes they are used to facilitate assembly then discarded. Maybe just got left behind.

I also found this same rubber cap under the passenger seat inside the rear vent. Could not find a screw where it can cover yet

Have you transported any wire shelving recently?

Nope, I only found this cap since it was moving and rattling around in the floor vent whenever I was in stop and go traffic
