There is an EVGo station near a restauraunt we like...I used to have to use their level 2 charger, but they had several Chademo chargers, and the last time we went, they had put in one Tesla Supercharger (apparently that's a new strategy for EVGo - adding Tesla Superchargers to their locations).

No they didn't; that's not a Tesla Supercharger. It's a CHAdeMO to Tesla plug adapter integrated into the station charging cables. The CHAdeMO cable has to be plugged into the station to pass that through the Tesla adapter cable to the car. It's limited to about 45kW, because that is the limit (125 amps) that the Tesla CHAdeMO adapter has.
