Charging in an area with no cellular/wifi signal

I've charged at my workplace a few times now and the car park is underground so no signal. The few times I've done this I've noticed the charging session doesn't show on Tessie or TeslaFi for example. I thought it would be able to retrieve the data once signal is restored? Or is that just the way it is?

The API's do not provide history just a snapshot of the current status. So these apps build up a picture by repeatedly pinging the car. If they can't ping the car at the time then the data is lost to them.

They don't really ping the car. They read the data that the car sends the servers and the servers send to the API. But you're right its all done in real time so you can't get old data.
