We have an X with the white interior as a 6-seater. We also have two pitbulls about 50-70lbs each. We have only done a few long trips but we fold the 3rd row down and put mats or blankets down in back. Our older dog always moves up and sits on the second row seats. The seats are quite durable and I have not found any scratches yet. I wipe them with baby wipes and vacuum out the dog hair. Our dogs seem to enjoy riding in the X way more than my wife's previous car a Subaru Forester.
I will say make sure the rear cargo cover piece is at the lowest setting, not resting on the upper tabs. It's not meant to handle the load of a large dog and one of our tabs broke on the first trip.
