Converting RWD model 3 to AWD: how to change the config?

Assuming all hardware is in place (different battery, added front motor, wiring, etc), what would it take to update the config on the MCU to make it AWD? Who other than Tesla is able to make such a config change?

IIRC electrified garage made a swap like that- the motor and battery are mated so they swapped both. Generally it's cheaper to just sell yours and buy an AWD though (esp when you consider the warranty consequences)

Thank you! This is for EV conversion, we have all components just trying to figure out how to program them together (MCU from RWD model 3 with motors amd battery from an AWD).

You could buy one of these but would only work if you’re on very old firmware

I’m in your same situation, I contacted electrified garage they can only convert if you’re on version 8 after that they can’t get through the security. I have a very clean salvage model 3 long range rwd if anyone is interested.
