Cracked glass roof on MY ... Risk to have service center replace it?

New MY ready (VIN 22XXX) for delivery at the service center. Rep called to delay my pickup siting a cracked roof that would be replaced. I asked how many replacements they had performed; answer - 2. Anyone else experience a roof replacement? Is it a risk to have this done non-factory?

Had the same thing on my car. I just asked for a new VIN and got a different car 2 weeks later.

Just before I left to pickup my Model Y they called to say the windshield was cracked and needed to be replaced. The SC said they've done a number of them. I'm scheduled pick it up next Thursday and will thoroughly inspect it. The inspection will include pouring a few gallons of water on it. Good luck with whatever happens.

The factory gets it wrong too, so there is risk no matter where it is done. But I have seen multiple report having no problem after it was done at a service center.

Yikes! I just tinted the roof...hopefully mine doesn't crack ;(

Mine was replaced as part of the hatch misalignment. The Tampa SC did a great job with no apparent issues.

If you go through with this, make sure to thoroughly inspect the paint around the glass. I had a windshield replacement done by them on my S and they scratched up all the paint around the glass, presumably when aligning the glass in the frame.
