Cupholder and iPhone Mount for Roadster

Just found a simple and very inexpensive mount that I'm really liking so far:

Joby Grip Tight Mount:
Amazon.com: Joby JM1-01WW GripTight Mount (Black): JOBY: Cell Phones Accessories

It's designed to attach to a tripod for photography with a smartphone. Using mounting tape, I attached it to the center console and so far so good.

A few pics are below. One of the side arms extends via a spring mechanism and then secures the phone when you release. It easily folds in and up to give your passenger more leg room and depending on where you mount it, you can keep your cup holder free. It's easy to attach power via the 12V accessory socket. So far, it's been very secure and handy when driving on city streets, easy to read, and quite easy to reach. Only drawbacks so far - not sure how well the mounting tape will last in the long run, but it seems just fine so far; I'd try to find black mounting tape so it blends in better or color exposed sides with a Sharpie; it does take up passenger leg room so where I have it mounted, it's probably not a good solution for a long drive - unless the phone goes back in the pocket.

Definitely something to consider. For about $15 (including mounting tape) it's worth a shot!

Below are some pics with my iPhone 6 in a slim clear TechArmor case:

thanks for that! Where can I find that mount?

I'm resurrecting something of a dormant thread here, but I found such an ideal solution to this problem (for me, anyway) that I had to share.

I have a 2.0 with the infernal JVC head unit, but I found after performing wiztecy's No Brainer 4" drop-in speaker upgrade that I could coax fairly decent sound from it.

This would probably placate me for a year or two before I succumb to the 2.5 double-DIN upgrade, if I had a decent solution for mounting and connecting my iPhone 6. It has to be a wired connection, because the Bluetooth on the JVC was designed to stream nothing but user frustration.

I tried the Kenu Airframe, but found it too difficult to angle it the way I wanted it, and it never felt stable. The vents are also too far from my driving position for the iPhone screen to be positioned conveniently at hand. Ideally I wanted something that would be adjustable, stable, and hold the phone close enough to the existing 30-pin iPod jack that I could run a 7" Lightning adapter cable from it to the phone.

Eureka:
Amazon.com : KamO Claw phone holder Universal iPhone car Mount Phone, Oculus rift sensor clamp anywhere grip anything iPhone car holder for iPhone 6, 6+, Samsung, Attach to Car Headrest, Dashboard, Bike/Bicycle : Camera & Photo

Been using this for a week or so now, and am very happy with it. The spring-loaded bit that holds the phone attaches to the clamp with a standard tripod-type threaded mount, so you could replace it easily with a cradle of your choice. There are probably a dozen ways you could position this in the Roadster cockpit, but this is what's worked best for me...
