I'm in LA, put in for an order 3 days ago, he says I should get delivery this month. I've heard that CA deliveries are priorities at the end of every quarter to hit numbers. I ordered white, white interior, 3 rows. just changed from 20" to the 19" (either powder coating them or getting different ones). the debate is FSD up front at $10k knowing they are going to $14k, or wait for the subscription to launch. I was hoping subscription would be out by now.
No one knows where FSD is going. I am generally an early adopter and realize I often pay a premium for that.

My thought was I financed a bit of the car for 60 months at a low rate (see above), so I am paying about $170/month for FSD. Should be lower than the subscription. Who knows. I plan to drive the *sugar* out of the car and drive a TON on the highway with 2-3 hour drives. That’s where FSD is huge to me because of the lane changing alone. Regular AP doesn’t do it. Again, value is different for all.

I am quite certain in 12 months they’ll come out with new hardware and I will be pissed and feel like I got shafted. It’s happened with every Tesla I’ve owned, but that’s part of the risk/reward of a Tesla.

For those who (like me) have gotten sent to the September delivery purgatory, I saw this in the local owners’ club Facebook group (posted about noon Eastern on 6/17):

Obviously it’s not from an official official source, but at this point it’s probably as reliable as the website or an average Elon tweet.

White with black interior and tow hitch ordered 4/19, and currently a September EDD.
MYLR7 Blue with black interior. No hitch. No FSD. Ordered 6/6 and am on the teeter totter of EDD with everyone else. It moved up to as early as July 30-Aug. 20 and then back to September...again. I also lost $100 at order a Tesla inventory game because I really didn't LOVE the one I picked on urge. Losing money did help calm me down, so now I'm cool to wait until September now or whenever they want to give it to me...I mean sell it to me. lol

I won demo car bingo! VIN 187xxxx. 500 and change miles. It has a tow hitch which I didn't initially want but had already decided I would accept if everything else is what I want. [I had been planning to get an after-market tow hitch]

I still have to arrange for home delivery.

PS: there was a button to remove FSD so that should not be a worry for anyone. You can do it yourself.

PS-2: about 10 cars showed up in the Denver area around midnight. I used "Buy it now" even though that may cost me the $100 deposit on my original order. We'll see tomorrow. I texted my pseudo-SA with the VIN but haven't heard back. I'm pretty sure someone else would have bought it now if I had waited for the SA to get back to me.

Funny thing. I was going to bring my old car to the shop today to get new brake pads installed. But the battery died so I couldn't get it out of the driveway. A tow truck is coming tomorrow to tow it to the shop. I felt deep in my heart that moving ahead with repairs on the old car would ensure I win demo car bingo.

Cars know. And they can be extremely jealous.

So I was scheduled for delivery today Friday. Got a call around noon yesterday asking if I want to get it today, obviously I said hell yeah. Went and picked it up. They left us alone to look it over and said take as long as we need. We looked around and couldn’t find anything wrong, we had plenty of time so I kept trying to find something, anything, didn’t see anything wrong at all. Signed my paperwork and were out of there in 10 minutes. I’m not very picky person at all, so I keep feeling like I probably missed things that others could have pick out, lol. My teenager son has a great eye for detail but he stood me up today to hang out with his best friend. 🤦🏽‍♂️ It’s ok though, they finally got fully vaccinated and hadn’t hung out in over a year.

Drove about 130 miles today. Its a great car. Crazy instant torque, quiet, awesome features, sound is awesome (I was real nervous about that I might be disappointed with sound quality), rides very smoothly. We laughed over the stupid fart thing like we haven’t in long time. I got fsd and autopilot experience so far is kinda crazy. It suddenly tried to overtake a semi from the right side with sudden burst of acceleration but there was no actual lane on the right and had I not had my hand on the wheel and foot on the brake, it would probably have slammed into a barraicade because there was some work going on on the shoulder. Couple of times it realized that it made a mistake on navigate on autopilot and then tried to make a quick jerky move back to the right path. Like wtf! My Volvo just cancels all autonomous functions when it can’t figure things out, which feels safer than Tesla taking off like a banshee. I plan on using these features as an added something to avoid fatigue on long trips but keep 100% focus on the road. But I do hope that they will fix this soon. I understand (so I’ve been told) that it also gets better with time. We’ll see. Not a deal breaker though, I’ll learn its’ quirks. One pedal driving came pretty naturally to me and really like it. I grew up on stick shifts and have driven just about every machine except anything that flies.

Anyway, I’m pretty tired, better stop my rambling and go to bed. Thank you to all the posters here, your company helped pass the time a great deal. Hope to stick around this lovely website and run into you all now and then. It was worth the wait! If I may, I’ll say that to anyone waiting, just do whatever is required of you at whatever step you’re at, not much else you can do. Have all your ducks in a row, and wait. At any step when something changes jump on it quick. If you get a button to accept vision, do it before thinking, don’t waste your time. Got a vin? Call, email, any way you can get a hold of anyone at the SC to get your delivery scheduled. Pay your down payment as soon as you’re given the chance. Lock that *sugar* down! I know many here don’t agree with giving your hard earned money to Tesla before absolutely required. But if you can afford to have that money (without going broke) in Teslas hands for longer than necessary, what’s the harm? Hard for them to reassign your vin to someone else if you got it locked down as much as you can. YMMV. But I’m one of those people who once decide to move forward with something, I’m all in, whatever it takes (I do often have regrets afterwards though, so maybe don’t be me :) ).

Ok, done for real this time.

Tesla would look pretty dumb and somewhat reckless if they reintroduce radar to the 3 and Y when/if Bosch has availability. As well, I wouldn’t get an older Y thinking you’ll keep radar. Uncle Elon said the TV update will roll out to all 3s and Ys. Which effectively means they’ll “brick” the radar. He says a lot of crap, but I don’t think the radar is coming back. Did a Bosch shortage speed up the move to TV? I would say almost certainly. Is it coming back? Almost certainly not.
Well said. I think its more likely that we will get door panel upgrades and the new headlights on the MY in the next month vs getting radar back ever LOL

Took delivery this afternoon. It was inventory, but just unmatched, so came from Fremont, was heading to mid Atlantic anyway, no fee, and it had 4 miles on it at deliver.

Hang in there folks. As many have said, totally worth it, incredible car and engineering, but craptastic pre delivery. Several thoughts:

1) Panels were perfect. I had time (see below) to look at 7-8 other new Ys and they all looked great too.

2) No other “typical” issue except for the crazy coat hook that wouldn’t close. Easy to fix at some point.

3) I have a 7 seater - one of the seats in second row wouldn’t slide forward and tilt to get to third row. Three folks tried, didn’t work. They took it back to service and fixed it. It was a faulty sensor and they replaced it. Annoying part is it took a little over an hour and they only updated me 40 minutes into it. Before they even started I said “forget about it, one of the seats works and I will make a service appointment”. That said, they were courteous and fixed it.

4) Interior was also flawless

5) Odd driver door panel alignment on inside can be seen from outside. I would’ve complained, but since I had an hour, I looked at all of the other Ys and they ALL looked the same - so I let it go. I put a picture here as it’s interesting (to me).

6) Would’ve taken less than 10 minutes for delivery if the seat issue didn’t exist AND if I didn’t spend 40 minutes inspecting the car. Nobody rushed me and they were very helpful.

7) I have an XP90D and I was still amazed by how quick my MYLR is. Super fun to drive.

8) I’ve never been in a Y before. It does (obviously) feel markedly smaller inside compared to my X. That said, both my wife and kids remarked about how they felt they had more leg room in front and second row. There actually IS more leg room in the Y than the X, but head and hip room are noticeably smaller.

9) No passenger lumbar, yes auto dimming mirrors, normal headlights, etc.

10) No PPF or mudflaps. Fine by me as I am getting PPF on a large area anyway and mudflats cost $40.

11) I am very picky about sound and impressed by the sound quality. It’s excellent.

12) No rattles (yet)

13) Y VINs at SC being delivered ranged from 192 to 207. I will note there were four others in the 202 range like me and all had white interiors but different exteriors. Not sure how that relates to batching, but was interesting.

14) I ended-up using Alliant CU because their customer service was awesome and DCU’s sucked. To be fair, I am paying 2.24%, so 1% more, but DCU kept fumbling all over the place and they use a check which they send in the mail - seemed an odd way to buy a tech forward car. I literally applied to Alliant Wednesday night, and they were ready with funding today. I know they’ve focused on Tesla’s since at least 2016 and do a ton of them.

They (Alliant) have some way to access Tesla’s system so when the payment info wasn’t showing correctly for financing, the Alliant team changed it directly from the Tesla account (I didn’t give them my credentials) and pushed it through. No need to track down my SA, etc. I wanted the lower rate, but I can’t get over how inept the DCU folks were. Alliant was awesome and this is the second Tesla I’ve financed with them.

Apologies for the long post, but I’ve learned a great deal from folks here and wanted to try to pay it back a bit. Thanks to all for the guidance, patience, support! and good vibes along the way.
So excited for you! Thanks for the VIN update, you know how I've been obsessed with that recently. Good to know that there are 207's on lots. Hopefully the theory of mine being at the bottom of the truck or an inactive SIM is why they can't seem to figure out where it is...

After the horrible experience yesterday tesla made up for it. They surprised me with a home delivery this afternoon at my house. Rhyder the delivery specialist was amazing he helped me set everything up and answered all my questions. No issues other than some residue from the film that they wrap the car with. Worth the wait and aggravation… what a driving experience!!! I love it !!!
Congrats!! 🎉 Looks great!

Whats your VIN?

Hey guys, longtime lurker here.

Ordered 5/12 (MYLR, MSM/Black, 5 seat, Tow, 19"). EDD started at 5-11 weeks, then 3-13 weeks, 6/16-6/30, 7/19-8/8, September a few days ago, then 7/18-8/7 yesterday. Last night as we were sitting down to dinner I got a text to schedule delivery! So I'm picking it up in Westmont IL on Tuesday. VIN 206xxx.

I called the store and they said the car is currently in Boise (sort of a circuitous route to Chicago?) with 3 miles on it, mfg date of 6/6.

Seems like this is happening - a bit faster than planned. I have a JuiceBox, but don't have the garage wired yet LOL!
this gives us all HOPE!
