Just got home with this... (ordered 5/23, VIN 6/12, delivery today!)

Pickup was essentially just signing a form. I did spent a bit of time going over the vehicle and it seems to be in great condition.

All the better since I was originally told I wouldn't be getting this until September...

What are door seals? and why rear vent covers?
Door seals are strips of foam with adhesive. They go around the doors (and on the pillars) to reduce wind noise. There are plenty of YouTube videos showing installation and results.

The rear vent covers prevent small items from getting into the vents. Probably most useful if you plan to have kids in the back.
What key card holders did you get? I don’t want to get cheapo looking ones.
Don't follow what I did. This was a tough choice. I ended up with the TANDRIVE 2PCS Silicone Key Card Holder Case in blue and black. I'm sure you can find something nicer looking and more elegant. I was looking for something that can be used at the mechanics and the body shop that doesn't look terrible and doesn't cost too much.

No DIY ppf or ceramic for me. I found a local body shop that does ppf but they don't do ceramic.

Here is the added junk I've ordered in the last 24 hours (my list of shame):
  • screen protector
  • rotating screen mount
  • dog mode cling sticker
  • key card holders
  • mud flaps
  • car cover
  • roof sun shade
  • windshield sunshade
  • wheel cap kits
  • door seals
  • jack pads
  • rear vent covers
  • floor and trunk mats
  • NEMA 14-30 adapter (the 14-50 was out of stock)
Which door seal kit did you buy?

Before I bid adieu to the MY Current Delivery Times thread. I want to say thank you for all the help and also in the satisfaction I knew I was able to help some others as well. The wait was worth it and the car is amazing!

Delivery was Wednesday. Installed OEM front mud flaps at SC parking lot. Installed OEM center console bins. Matte screen protector (looks great!), and OEM PPF on the rear doors today at 115 miles. Charging with mobile connector on 14-30.

I have on order from Evannex the soft frunk cooler, back sub-trunk lift strap, and the silicone cup holder insert. Am I done buying accessories??

Did an ONR no rinse car wash for the first time ever today. It’s so easy! Why haven’t I been washing cars like this in the past?!

And here you go a couple pics of BLUE STEEL
Congrats, flawless frunk gap! Looks great in pictures.

Nice! Looks like mine that I got to see for all of 30 minutes since we immediately dropped off for ppf/tint. Our panel gaps were all fine as well and the noise suppression during the short drive was heaps better than my 2018 model 3.

Gratz! I got our second one installed on Wednesday. Unfortunately they've removed the wired load balancing connection from the Ben 3 chargers in favor of wireless... Nice if you have two wireless, but for people like me that have the ben 2 version we are now screwed. I am going to have to manually throttle down the ben 3 charger to avoid overloading the breaker.
I have to say, the wall connector is “meh” to me for the Y. I get 38 miles of range per hour on my NEMA 14-50 and 42 miles of range per hour on my wall connector at 48A. Not such a benefit for $500 plus install.

Now, if you compare to old tech like my 2016 X, it’s huge. There, the 14-50 gives 25 mph for range versus 44 mph on the wall connector. BUT - that’s because the old S and X cars had a 72A on board charger available, so it’s pushing way more power.

Seems like the charging is just way more efficient today. Were I driving a newer gen car only, I would stick with 14-50.

Got the Text to schedule delivery appointment just now. Friday at 10 was the earliest so I did that.. and then taking it directly to the shop for PPF application, so I'm looking at Sunday when I'll actually have it.. oh man. 1 excruciating week lol.
I thought others have recommended waiting a week or two on the PPF, so the paint can cure a bit more.
Assuming this is a new one, it would have just gotten painted, at most, 10 days ago.

To ease the headache just wait for the car you ordered. It's not as long as you think it will be. Inventory cars give you an option to have it delivered to the nearest Tesla delivery center or home, based on location. Inventory cars - It's usually cars someone rejected at delivery. You have to pay for destination fee though which is usually $1200 + other fees. Wait for a brand NEW car. Go on the website and search for old model X and see what option it gives you for delivery/pickup to your home or state. Many people have create 2 orders and cancel 1 so that's an option for you. VINs are delivered in waves. West coast first then Midwest then Northeast.
Sorry, that’s just not right about inventory cars being “rejected”. My inventory car was an unmatched car that had just been made in Fremont and had 4 miles of range. Uncle Elon actually spoke about this at some point when they were having ramp up quality issues in the Y. I will have to find the quote.

The only real reason not to go for inventory is, depending on when you ordered originally, you will be paying $500-$1,500 more for the same config and any applicable transport fee. Many folks on here have bought inventory and are super happy with them.

Here she is! Was originally scheduled to pick up tomorrow 6/20 but with the heavy rains forecasted for the Atlanta area tomorrow, I decided to stop by the SC early this morning to see if the car arrived and inspect before the rain came through. I knew it would be tough to inspect in the rain. While I was there at about 9am this morning, a delivery specialist asked if I needed any help and I told her I was inspecting so that I could have a quick pick up tomorrow. She said the earliest they could do was 5pm which wouldn’t have worked for me, so I told her keep my 6/20 appointment. The car was dirty and still had delivery packaging materials on it. The panel gaps and paint were flawless. I left 30 mins later and once I got home I got the notice to sign the lending/financing agreement.

On the agreement, I had some confusion on the amounts so I called the 1888 number and they clarified and since I mentioned that I saw the car earlier the lady said I should be able to pick up today. Fast forward, the got the car prepped for pick up today at noon and it went very smooth. I am happy with the quality and most of the other Ys I saw on the lot were flawless as well.
As I was waiting for the temp tag, I saw a white model S Plaid getting delivered. Turns out it was the first plaid in the south east getting delivered. It was a nice couple with their about 2 year old picking it up and I joked with them that they now had no excuse on ever being late. It was a beautiful car!

As I drove home, I did hear a couple rattles that I will need to figure out once the rain stops. Overall, I’m very happy and despite the lack of communication it has still been the best delivery I have taken. My last car was a BMW that I custom ordered (8-10weeks) but the haggling on the price and financing experience were much more anxiety inducing than this Tesla experience

thank you guys for keeping me informed and entertained while I waited for my Y. I hope those of you waiting get yours soon and enjoy it like those of us who have taken delivery. It is worth it!

Completely random and probably covered elsewhere in some other thread, but…

You can upgrade a MYLR OTA to go from 4.8s to 4.2s 0-60 for $2,000 after you take delivery. Not great value compared to MYP, but anyone considering that?
Did it a week after delivery. Not necessary… but… the my smile when I punch it would say it is totally worth it
