Can someone explain the sequence of payments to me? I understand to order I'll be charged a $100 ordering fee. At delivery I'll have to make full payment. Are there any mandatory or interim or down payments in between, and if so, what is the trigger for them?

No. You pay the $100 and then you figure out final payment just before/at delivery.

EDD was holding steady at 8/1-8/22 for over a week, yesterday it moved to 8/8-8/29. Today it moved to 7/16-8/2. I’m excited but apprehensive. I just hope I get it sometime in July before loan approval expires.

Is there a standard window when the loan expires? And you just have to re-apply if it does?

Generally it will be 60 days, but that may vary based on lender. You will have to reapply if approval expires.

Typically how much time is there between having a VIN assigned and your scheduled pick up day? I'm wondering if waiting for the VIN is a good trigger to apply for financing. I'm thinking that may be waiting too long.

I think that would be a good plan. Getting approved for financing is usually instant or within few days.

I’m not planning to apply for financing until the last minute when I confirm my car has arrived at the SC. I see no point arranging it so far in advance. I’ve financed 20+ cars in my life. I’ll try my local credit union first. If I get sub 2% I’ll stick with them. If not I’ll give Tesla a shot.

@Darblish just went to Easton to ask for an update and the guy said “We have you scheduled for a mid September delivery, I wish the website didn’t even show an edd because it means nothing.”
Mid September is so worse than my current edd on the website of august 8-28.
this wait is terrible. Sucks that I sold my car and now sharing a car with my girlfriend. Hopefully things change once deliveries start ramping up again.

Got my VIN yesterday! 230XXX

My EDD's have been all over the place just like everyone else - and most recently switched to a generic September again Thursday and Friday before getting my VIN saturday.

Ordered 5/16 - so will need to reapply for financing
