So was out of town today and missed all of the excitement BUT I'm in October land as well. Which is actually a nice change instead of having no dates. Today was the first day of week 14 of the 8-12 week wait lmao. Glad to see the jokes around Octobergeddon 2.0 though. Drove an ice truck today... that was interesting to say the least. Made me want the Y even more especially after $80 in gas instead of the normal $12 with our hybrid... That hurt. Also not having any type of regen braking is weird like, this big ole floating boat of a truck just keeps gliding on and then you realize you have to press the brake peddle to make the whale of a truck stop... 😯o_O My Husband on the other hand when he tried to drive the truck, before he noped out of driving it, kept trying to use the "regen" paddles. We had paddles in our Honda that would increase or decrease regen and it didn't save state so you had to do it every time, and so we're not sure of what else was activated on that truck today lol.🤷‍♂️

yeah... My original SA said I would get delivery by end of June. 🤣
But that was before the worst of the parts shortages and the massive increase in demand or during it really so they didn't know quite yet how bad it was at the time. 🤷‍♂️
It'll come eventually but the VINvy can get the better of me sometimes as the wait pushes out. lol

We got her home today! Received VIN Friday (243xxx) with scheduled home delivery for Tuesday, Aug 10th but I couldn’t wait after learning the Y was already at the SC.

I couldn’t reach anyone by phone so we visited the SC in person. The delivery specialist said they could prepare the car today but to come back in three hours. No problem!

The car looked great! Hood and panel alignments all looked good. Coat hooks opened and closed. Checked all the common issues and everything was good. Quick calculation indicated 100% SoC equates to 329 miles. Only real issue is that two doors require more force to close. Set an appointment to get it adjusted later. The other “issue” is more my OCD noticing the rectangle VIN cutout at the base of the windshield appears ripped or torn.

Quickly installed the floor mats, console organizer, and mud flaps. The Basenor mud flaps deserve special mention as they installed easily with a solid and secure fit. They even include clips for extra retention but honestly seemed plenty secure without them (I still used the clips per instructions). Also no issues removing the screw underneath for the rear mud flap installation.

Model Y PSA: Two other friends received their MY two weeks ago and already scratched their Induction wheels. On top of that, one even closed their garage door on the hatch and scratched it.

Just a reminder to approach curbs with extra care and give yourself more room than you think you’ll need until you get used to the car’s dimensions. Also, use your side mirrors tilted down when reversing to avoid curb rash.

Our garage has plenty of clearance for the adjustable hatch height, but be aware of how far that hatch sticks out. I parked the car in the garage and there was 20” at the front and a few inches at the rear with the garage door closed. I opened the garage door again and then opened the hatch and realized the car needed to be further in another 8” for the hatch to safely open in a closed garage. I worried that a family member might accidentally open the hatch in a closed garage or not pay attention and close the garage while the hatch was open. Now I know exactly how far in to park and avoid any accidental contact between the garage door and hatch (open or closed).
