Hi all...

Hope you are safe and doing well with this outbreak. I have some great news.... My Tesla Model Y delivery date is set. This is going to be my first EV and my first Tesla so, I don't need to tell how much excited and anxious I am at this moment... ;)

I finally finished all the paperwork and process so, I would like to share a little bit of it with you.

- Ordered a LR RWD on Jan 26 2020. Yes, RWD!
- After Tesla Q4 Financial Results on Jan 29, RWD option was removed and my MY wheels were upgraded automatically to 20’’ Induction Wheels when I checked my account after that event
- Updated to LR AWD on Mar 2 because of the lack of information about what was going to happen to the RWD version. Glad I did that because till today (March 20) we don't know yet when that option is coming or even if it will come in the future
- Updated to the Red Multi-coat on March 3
- NO more changes after that
- Got the "Get Ready for Your Model Y Delivery" email on March 10 and filled out all the details like trade-in, started the loan application process with Alliant Credit Union, defined the amount of payment for cash, added my driver's license and home address info
- Same day a Tesla Delivery Specialist contacted me to confirm the data/process and to give me the "Welcome to Tesla Family" :)
- My trade-in appraisal offer came 24 hours later
- Went to Carmax that week and got 1K more than Tesla trade-in offer so I spoke with my Tesla Delivery Specialist and they matched it after I sent them a copy of the Carmax appraisal. This took 3 days
- VIN number showed up 6 days later using the web page source trick
- Got Tesla SMS with "Your Model Y delivery is ready to be scheduled!" on March 18
- My bank was not in the Tesla automated payment system list so I called them and did a wire transfer on March 18
- MVPA became available on March 18
- Finished the loan process yesterday (March 19)
- Contacted Progressive to get my Model Y VIN added in my policy since Tesla Model Y was NOT available in their system yet so the Progressive agent had to manually add the VIN number in their system
- Sent the insurance info back to Alliant via email and to the Tesla Center where I'll pick up my car
- Alliant Credit Union loan was finalized and funds were loaded. BTW, got an annual rate of %2.74. Adding this info here since it's a common question.
- Got my Trade-in paperwork this morning (Fedex one night delivery). Signed and sent them back today (March 20) via Fedex. Be careful with the Fedex envelope because you can re-use it.

Now, I'm anxiously waiting to pick up my car and I'm planning to post pictures here of my Red MY LR + 20’’ Induction Wheels after I pick it up.

Tesla Motors Club members and forums have been very helpful so, hope this thread helps others who are planning to get a Model Y and have questions like I had during my process. Be safe and take care everyone

Just the rubber on the door, not a defect. That’s not an issue. Plus, I do think some people are being too pick. Pictures are not able to truly reflect how beautiful this car is. You have to see a real one to understand that. Paint was flawless btw. I didn’t spot anything wrong when I checked it this afternoon. Interior was perfect just some spots the delivery team forgot to clean but I took care of it.

Overall, I’m really happy with my first Tesla and EV. FYI, I tried AP and FSD for the first time this afternoon and it was really cool and scary in the beginning but I really liked it. I’ll get a hang of it. Just need to use it more. ;)

Congrats! That Ford truck looks awfully close to your front bumper in that third photo, but probably just a perspective trick.
It was really close. When I got back to my car that was the first thing I checked too.
I’m glad I left some extra space to the car in front of me and I think that’s what my Sentry mode recorded. Got an alert. Need to check the usb stick.
