Delivery disarray!

Tesla's paperwork folks are in such disarray!
Reserved M3 3/31/16 during the reveal.
Owner of MX since 7/16
Configured AWD M3 6/30/18
Had everything all set information-wise in "My Tesla" since early July '18

Radio silence until last 9/6 when we got scheduling email, replied with request for 10/1 and then radio silence again until 9/13.. apparently once an IDA has your reservation they handle it and nobody fills in for them if they are on vacation!
Assigned 9/26 in SLC.

Called Fremont two days ago (Sunday afternoon) and a very helpful Jodi Greene confirmed the vehicle was in SLC and who my DS in SLC is, but was unable/unwilling to take an emailed driver's license, for security, saying she would have the IDA open up that access on "My Tesla" so I could re-upload the right driver's license. Eventyally that IDA just wanted it emailed after all..

Five days after the scheduling was done, 9/18 got another pro-forma email from a different IDA reminding me to go over the "My Tesla" details.. I noticed that my wife's name was set for titling and my name was on the financing. SO.... changed those details in "My Tesla"... and there it sat for a whole week, with a message that a delivery specialist would be reviewing.

This morning, the message of reviewing the information was GONE and the original info (my wife's) was STILL THERE!

AND, the MVPA was drawn up with my wife's details.

Tried in just now vain to get a call through to the IDA, and again got voice mail..

So, called Fremont again just now... most helpful woman called the IDA directly (apparently they actually answer internal calls), and hey presto within 5 minutes the information in "My Tesla" was corrected... now just waiting for the corrected MVPA, so hopefully will be ready for delivery tomorrow.

I can totally respect needing to vent and by no means am I a Tesla apologist, but if I'm reading your post correctly your venting on Tesla to make changes for mistakes that you yourself made, no?

Don't disagree it shouldn't be that difficult to change, but you clearly understand the gravity of the situation the company is faced with at the moment. Just take a breath, it will work out.

This experience sounds very "normal" with delivery these days (as Elon correctly terms it as "hell"). The IDAs are overloaded (and also not very good at reading the entire mail) and as you said, no one to back them up if they are on vacation. I experienced the same thing this week.

Even for someone like me who didn't make any changes to the configuration, names, financing etc., I still got the MVPA just couple of days before delivery (I had to manually sign the MVPA to send to my credit union to have them mail the cashier's check early).

Hope your car turns out great and then, you'll not remember any of this delivery experience next week :)

3rd party financing is asking for cayenne appetizers while you are sipping your tabasco margarita in delivery purgatory.

I had to do things I swore I would never do to another of God's creations. I nagged at my DSA and [email protected] the number of times my wife nags at me. Constant bitching until I finally got a signed MVPA that my Credit Union would accept.

I was prepared for Tesla financing and its higher rate the day of delivery in a worst case scenario.

Credit Union mailed out check late even so it wouldn't arrive to Tesla until the day after I picked up my car. Image of check and tracking number sufficed however.

Now, the topper.. finally they got the right names o this thing, produced an MVPA but failed to add the Tax, title and licensing fees. So means I’ll have to cough up that cash at delivery rather than rolling it into the loan!

I just don’t get why they can’t get the little details right! This process has been much more of a pain in the A$$ than when I took delivery of my Model X in 2016 when Tesla didn’t even have a dealership locally here!

No I’m venting that they can’t be responsive to emails and communicate effectively. I will respond to important emails in 60 minutes, they then take 5 to 10 days!
If they are really in a big push to get cars delivered by end of quarter, and the car is already ON SITE at the delivery location, just do the d@nm paper work and don’t string the customer along! I was perfectly happy to wait until Monday 1st October but they insisted on tomorrow!

I hear ya brother. I'm waiting on the same Silver M3D with a 9/30 delivery date, but zero anything from my DA.
