I completely agree, the "angel eye" and "halo" look that BMW introduced almost two decades ago looks to me completely outdated these days. I'm glad Tesla went in a different direction.

Nice comparison shots. I personally prefer the Model 3 look. To me the Model S lights look like every other car produced in the last 10 years.
I kind of agree. I still think Model S headlights are cool, but the 'LED eyeliner" look is not unique these days and arguably "me too" as it's been adopted further down market and and even into cheap aftermarket solutions. Model 3's design is definitely more of a brave one (for better or worse), as there's not much "me too" going on there at all. This illicits stronger reactions from people (positive and negative) as it forges its own design aesthetic; one less concerned about looking like other mainstream vehicles, now that Tesla has seen success with their previous vehicles.
I have no idea what the future looks like. They look different that what I've seen and I like the look, so that's really all I care about.

You really think that? I think the Model 3 lights as a whole are very unique looking; regardless of no halos.
