Hey all,

How do MY’s handle driver profiles? If my wife and I enter the vehicle and both have phones tied to individual profiles what is the experience?

You can set one phone/profile as the primary under the driver profiles that takes precedence when both phones are present.

I'm finding that this works 99% of the time. There are some occasions that it will go to my my wife's profile instead of mine.

Thank you. What if we both enter the car, my profile is primary but my wife is driving. Is there an option to switch to her profile?

Before you put the car in drive, the active profile is shown top center of the screen. Tap the name to change profiles.

If you are driving and need to change it, tap the car icon at the bottom left corner of the screen, and you'll see the active profile name on the Controls screen. Tap the name to change it.

My wife has been complaining to me all the time that she has to click on her profile to get seat, steering wheel and side mirrors adjusted even though her profile set to primary.

Note: I used my phone to accept delivery and add her as a driver.

Our tesla refuses to accept me as the driver ,its HER baby,. But it is Fun when we're out doing errands, ALWAYS goes to hers. Its gonna burn up the seat motor!

This happened to my wife and I just this past weekend. I thought I set me as the primary but it defaulted to her when we entered the vehicle.

Yeah, my Dec. 2016 Model X started random assignment of profiles after a software update back in 2018. I've had it in for many, many fixes. This last time, they just changed the batteries in the key fobs, even though I told them in advance it wouldn't work. Always looking for the quickest, least expensive thing to do. So somehow, my key fob died after they changed the battery. Service has never been Tesla's strong suit, but it keeps getting worse. Going back in tomorrow with multiple leftover complaints from my December service requests. I'll update this post, but I'm pessimistic.

In my case I’m not using key fobs. We use our iPhones only. It happened again just a couple of hours ago.

I rebooting and will see if that helps shortly.

Our experience here is whosever phone gets there first and unlocks the car with “there“ being near or approaching the driver’s side door. We have an Easy Entry profile so there is time as the seat adjust to change it if it is not what we want. No cloud profiles in use.
Interestingly the car typically reconnects audio to the last connected phone and this may not be the same as the phone which unlocked the car and set the driver profile.
