Let me ask you a series of questions:This - Unless it turns out to be BS by Monday, I’m cancelling. We’ll see how non-refundable the non-refundable deposit for the order is.
Let me ask you a series of questions:
1) Do you believe giving money to a politician buys at a minimum, access, and quite possibly influence?
2) Tesla is currently dealing with all sorts of regulatory and legal issues in a variety of states.
3) The republicans are in control of much of our government right now.
4) Who do you think, buying access to or even influence, would do the most good? Republicans or Democrats?
If you ask me, purely from a business standpoint, I see little reason to try to gain access to, or influence someone I already agree with.
Woolloomooloo and Brooklyn ... two very similar industrial cities of people with a culture of practical lives not burdened by the privilege of having much of a choice about the hand they've been dealt.1) Yes in this corrupt country
2) This would make logical sense if he was donating to politicians specifically, but he donated to a PAC whose sole purpose is to keep GOP candidates in and Democrats out
3) Tell me about it
4) Democrats. Get the GOP out in Nov
I’ve changed my original post BTW. I’m going to wait and see... but if I go home with a $70k Tesla and my wife thinks it’s gone to the xenophobic women-hating party (which she will) I’m going to be in a lot of trouble...
If SpaceX and @elonmusk are spending $30K on an each-way bet in the casino of US politics, I rate that as a gnat's fart in a global warming hurricane of bigger picture priorities and objectives.
I see no logic in burning down the planet because of a moral high ground in $$$$ing US oligarchy politicking.
The pro publica listing also shows $34,000 donation from GM (vs. Musk's $38,900) but the GM's donation was spread out in 12 smaller donations (from $1K to $5K). Why?.
The way to fix that is public funding the electoral campaigns of all political parties. In addition, get foreign powers, particularly the Russian oligarchs, out of hacking our electoral system.Disappointing "that" party gets any money from anyone...
GM the company didn't make a campaign contribution -- companies can't. GM's execs made the contributions -- either directly or through a PAC that only individuals can fund -- not companies.
