Could it be about (supercharging) performance?
Surelythe limits sets in the 100kWH drivetrain in terms of output are to protect the motors from overheating, not the battery?
In which situations would the car be able to perform better (driving) if indeed the new cooling system is more effective?
Of course there are more cells now, maybe as many as 15% more than in the 90kWh? That would mean that cells could be strained less while cumulatively doing more. But if you bump into the maximum the motors will take within seconds...
I suppose the motors also got a slight update (or are now deemed able to take a rougher beating), and especially 1/4 mile times could fall. So far, they have only by small fractions of a second of the fastest 90's, right?
