Is it normal for the Roadster to intermittently throw out error codes? I don't think the errors are that critical since none of the errors map to any known errors that I've found (although it doesn't seem like many error codes have been mapped). Here's an example of what I'm talking about: 1: error count for month 2: histogram of error count 3: List of 3 most common errors with count and error code number date 1 2 3 2010_03: 12 ### 3 error_65535, 3 error_19, 1 error_955 2010_04: 17 #### 10 error_19, 1 error_925, 1 error_1660 2010_05: 12 ### 3 error_934, 2 error_415, 2 error_925 2010_06: 22 ##### 7 error_925, 4 error_264, 3 error_283 2010_07: 12 ### 9 error_925, 2 error_934, 1 error_1418 2010_08: 59 ############ 46 error_415, 3 error_925, 3 error_955 2010_09: 28 ###### 7 error_934, 4 error_65535, 4 error_2 2010_10: 5 # 5 error_65535, , 2010_11: 7 ## 2 error_65535, 2 error_414, 2 error_415 2010_12: 12 ### 7 error_50, 3 error_1, 1 error_57 2011_03: 7 ## 4 error_415, 1 error_934, 1 error_65535 2011_04: 20 #### 9 error_19, 7 error_65535, 2 error_934 2011_05: 10 ## 5 error_934, 4 error_65535, 1 error_925 2011_06: 80 ################ 17 error_1, 8 error_1533, 5 error_415 2011_07: 39 ######## 31 error_925, 2 error_934, 2 error_65535 2011_08: 26 ###### 11 error_925, 6 error_934, 2 error_955 2011_09: 10 ## 5 error_934, 4 error_925, 1 error_65535 2011_10: 5 # 2 error_65535, 2 error_415, 1 error_934 2011_11: 5 # 3 error_955, 2 error_65535,
I guess the heart of my question is whether or not most of the reported errors are actually errors or if they are just warnings. The "errors" that I see that have text descriptions are just warnings about the tire pressure.
List of known codes vs messages is here: Open-Vehicle-Monitoring-System/server/ovms_server_tr.vece at master · markwj/Open-Vehicle-Monitoring-System · GitHub The ones prefixed DMC are debug messages and, we are told, not to be generally worried about. 65535 is the code to clear the error (on the can bus at least), so I suspect not a worry for you.
I can add a few more to the knowledge base: 1095 Press brake pedal before shift 1160 Drivers door ajar 1162 Trunk ajar 1167 Headlights on (I don't recall the circumstances)
Thanks. I've added them, and will commit to github later. P.S. Apart from 1167. I think it better to get the exact error message for that (because 'headlights on' does not really make sense as an error).
Thanks. You have some more error codes than what I was able to find. From inference, I think I figured out what codes 1075, 1076 and 1077 are 1075=DMC FW: PhaseB OverTemp warning. Torque limited 1076=DMC FW: PhaseB Temp Diff warning 1077=DMC FW: PhaseC OverTemp warning. Torque limited
I've occasionally seen "Headlights on" come up as an error badge on the VDS when starting the car. Yes, that is the actual text but I have no idea why it's considered an error. I've always just ignored it.
Does anybody know how worrisome these faults are? BSM: Isolation fault BSM: Isolation fault while contactors closed
I've seen the "headlights on" error before, and you're right, it makes no sense. I had just turned the car on and it immediately gave me that error. Also, here is one I notice you do not have. ID: 529 - Check right low beam bulb
Here are a couple more: 538 Check left front signal indicator bulb 539 Check right front signal indicator bulb
These were errors I got when my heater box needed to be replaced. Apparently there was some moisture getting in (or to a part) that was causing an isolation error. After seeing it a couple times after/during rain and being able to clear it by running the heater (per Tesla recommendation) it finally got to the point where it wouldn't clear and the car wouldn't charge.
