My OD was 2/20/22 for a MYLR: 5 seat, black, white interior, 20” wheels, no tow. I most recently had an EDD of Nov 2 - Jan 2. I got tired of waiting so on Wednesday (7/13), I switched to MYP same configuration except changed color from black to MSM. Yesterday, my EDD changed to July 25 - August 2. I’m in the Richmond, VA area. Hoping that this EDD is somewhat accurate and I’ll be getting my car in a few weeks.

Good to know. My order date was 2/28 and I did the same thing you did and switched Thursday (7/14). I think a lot of MYLR are getting tired of getting jerked around with the dates and little transparency And switching to MYP like us. Even when I called to ”unlock” my edit button the SA couldnt say what effect it has on your spot in line. unfortunately my date still says Nov-Jan but I have heard it can take 5 days. Still kind of scary The way they are about how random your wait time is.
having said that, I think Tesla being a forward thinking company could really make this experience 10x better and make the old style new car dealer business model be a thing of the past.
1. Make the line position more cemented and clearly and honestly show the effects if changes are made so you can make decisions based on actual dates and not on a hunch of what seems to be happening with other peoples orders.
2. This would be the hard one, but I think if they had cameras on the assembly line and if they knew ahead of time which starting build belonged to who, have pictorial updates to customers on where there model is on the line with 1 or 2 pictures of the car at that stage. To me this would really excite the buyers and be an experience like no other.
3. If there is a delay, give a broad explanation of what is causing it (without divulging non-public supply problem/production information)
I know it’s just a wish list but I am an engineer and it’s just in my nature to see what things “could be” with the right changes. Tesla is the only company that honestly does things efficiently and if it is anyone that could do something like this. It would be them.

can't wait!So earlier on this thread I mentioned I switched to MYP. I forgot to update here but I got a Vin and delivery of 7/26. BTW, based on what I got on my trade, I’m estimating it would have definitely gone down by December by a couple grand if I stuck with the MYLR. For some worried about the extra money, the difference in trade might make up for the upgrade. Of course, tomorrow could come and everyone’s MYLR window goes back to august for all I know.
I got my delivery scheduling text today. Picking up July 31.
We ordered 2/17/22 MYLR blue on black, 7 seat, 20" wheels, no tow, now FSD in Indianapolis IN. my dates have looked about the same as yours. Just noticed the change form EDD 10/8/22 -12/3/22 to 11/9/22-12/21/22. It is starting to get old. Good luck!
