Tesla knows, but they don't stick to any predefined schedule that I know of. They are released when they are ready.
Might be focusing on details for the Model Y rollout software. Might be working on the full resolution HW3 FSD release there were rumors of a bit ago.
I'm lucky enough to be one of the ~2% who got 2020.4.10 a week or so ago, but it doesn't seem to have anything 2020.4.1 didn't.
All we can do is wait and fight the withdrawal symptoms as long as we can.

"Now and then" is pretty precise for this question.
We've had our 3 over 1.5 years. I think we've gone as long as 2 months between updates. One time we got three updates within 24 hours. So there's your certain schedule.
