Fix your door that won't open

I just stopped by to ask and Tesla told me they weren’t sure until they got in there how much it would be, but that it might be as much as $1000. They said I’d almost certainly lose my nice chrome metal handle and get a plastic one.

Apparently this failure is so common you can buy new harnesses on Amazon, so that’s what I did (Tesla said they didn’t have any in stock and didn’t know when they could get me one).

Took me about 3 hours to replace it, but it’s working again.

I finally fixed my driver door that had a broken pivot gear.

Took me longer somehow. More like 5 hours. There were several things that kept delaying me. I also replaced the two microswitch wiring harnesses.
The next one I do will be my rear drivers side. That one died. There's no motor constantly running. It's just dead. Should be about one to two hours for that one since I know better now.
Also, I over-adjusted the recess of the handle & now it sticks out a couple of millimeters. Oh well. I'll find out why when I go back in there to find out why it wiggles in place ever so slightly. It's aligned perfectly all around. It's not hurting it, it seems, but still bothers me.
