13 car carriers in the lot and 2 that left around 1:15pm - two are from this morning though so maybe the drivers had to take a break.

Does Tesla load cars onto rail cars? I believe they somewhere in Bay Area load Tesla cars into containers for shipment by rail to eastern ports for export to Europe. Assume they load containers in Oakland for Asia and China export.

Tesla has a modest lot in the port of Richmond where they stage vehicles for rail cars. I posted some satellite and Street View images a while ago in this thread.

Reactions: ℬête Noire
3/29/18 around 7:00am - 13 car carriers in the lot! Looks like the lot is emptying out so not sure if the production rate will be sustained. If we keep seeing this many car carriers every day and there are still some cars in the lot then they've found an equilibrium of production/delivery rates.

end of quarter push....

Wish they would move from "end of quarter push" to just "push". Why slow production after a push?
The end of quarter push sounds like it's pulling people from other lines, asking people to work extra hours, etc - steps that won't be sustainable long term. They can rally the troops for short-term improvements but will need to improve their processes to maintain it long term.

That said, they will have to try to keep up and improve the pace to meet their goals for the next quarter. So even if there's a post-quarter drop in production rate, I expect it to be a short one.
