Your service center technically has the power to sell you FSD cheaper from what I can tell, but YMMV. You may want to call or email your service group and see if they would let you buy FSD from them at the 4K and see if you get lucky...

Thanks. I pushed back again showing the email trail dating back to June. They agreed to honour it based on the fact I’ve been trying for months

Dozens of calls and emails later, perhaps I should question the value of my time vs the $1000 in savings. Stubbornness and fighting for fairness for the win.

Seems that those ordering the standard autopilot got much more than they had bargained for, with all the updates and additional features, while the FSD benefits have not yet clicked in.

Same, figured it may help future-proof the car to have FSD & the supporting hardware (who knows if HW3 will be all that will be required to make the 3 FSD)... HW2.5 cars will be less desirable with HW3+ cars coming off the line soon so I figure buying FSD helps keep the hardware current for longer...
