'Get Amped Tour' Email Invites

I was thinking the same thing, to repeat this process and email 12 times over? Why not already have each test location date and time available to choose from and then go in sequential order? Let each reservation holder pick their preference location, date, and time ONE time and more importantly, allow people to plan ahead.

Giving people 6 days notice and 24 hours to respond to an email isn't exactly planning ahead, it's more of last minute, "if you're not doing anything this weekend" email.. Plus if one location is overbooked, maybe allow for an extra day for spillover. At least, they'll know ahead of time in order to make arrangements.

If people don't know there's an event near their location they may unnecessarily travel to a remote location in order to get a test drive. I'm not sure of the wording of the test drive email (since I'm waay down the list) if it states what other dates and locations they are planning.

+1
great suggestions, but I'm sure they have their reasons and it may be too late to change now

The invites are very specific to each invitee, I can even click the link and it takes me to the form I filled out to update the names on the list if I wanted to. I can see them sending future invites out minus those who have already RSVPed for the events to test drive in the past. Makes sense and very doable based on how they have been doing it.

Anyone care to post the contents of the email they rec'd? Leave out any personal information or links.

Here you go... I removed that actual reply link.

In reply to your other observations *shokunin* it can be argued both ways, there's also plenty of people saying "I might go here or I might go there...." and Tesla probably doesn't want Fremont to be booked out with travelers and then find that locals can't get in. It can also be seen as a benefit for those nearer the front of the list that they get first choice, especially when they're faced with configuring their cars already.

BTW, for anyone with high reservation numbers: where does everyone think these test drive cars are going once the "Get Amped Tour" is over? My guess is that they will be test drive cars for the stores and come mid-August you'll be able to get a test drive at your leisure, and probably longer than 8 minutes.

If I get a shot at it, I'll ask the Tesla specialist to turn the touchscreen Off for sure (and definitely no Adele on the sound system!). We had enough of that. I'd just focus on the driving characteristics. I'll most definitely ask the folks sitting in the back to buckle up and clam up as well ;)

@bluetinc: Do you have two S's reserved (P174 and Sig 491) as your signature indicates? If so, did you get two invites - one for the P174 today and one for the Sig previously? I've also got two reserved and my husband and I would both very much like a test drive since we're both buying one. I was told by TM that we'd only get one test drive. (Of course, I know that they have to get up to my P#)

Agree 100%. I'm thinking that would make some reservation holders less likely to fly cross-country and thereby forego a later event closer to them. If not have time slots for the later events available, at least let people book their presence there and give them the assurance that they will get in. Now it seems some are jumping on Fremont simply because it's available (and possibly for the 10-color display).

But that's just me thinking out loud. For the record, I think an early reservation holder is in his/her complete right to jump on Fremont, but would that person be as likely to do it if they could book a slot at the weekend at [insert close city here]?

(Yes I know, this post is completely self-serving, as I'm still holding out hope for an invite...)
