    540 server error

There are threads about this in the various car specific forums, but since it genuinely seems to span all cars and regions, maybe collect notes here? I can start... I have two cars, 2018 M3 and a 2016 MX. No third-party apps now or ever (this was brought up in a thread as possible network...

    540 Vehicle Server Error

I have two cars, one 2018 3 and a 2016 X. No third-party apps now or ever. Both accessed with the same account. The X (2020.48.37.8 - it hasn't prompted for an update in quite a while) gets this error every few weeks, sometimes more often. The 3 (2021.44.30.14) never gets it. Noting too that...

Then they are very short-sighted. You don't have to be a business owner to benefit from businesses doing well in your community. It's not a zero-sum game.

    Supercharger - Kayenta, AZ

The direct link to the post, FWIW: It seems that many of the commenters think the community pays anything for the privilege of a Supercharger. I believe Tesla pays both for installation and electricity, right? That really should have been noted by the poster to avoid this misunderstanding...

Window rolls all the way down when opening door

Hi all, Haven't seen a recent thread on this, so starting this. Ever since updating my 2018 M3 to 2021.4.12, 90% of the time when you open the front passenger door, the window will roll down 60%, then all the way. Once the passenger enters, the window will roll back up slightly, still about 60%...

    Supercharger - Kayenta, AZ

Even if that was the case, there would at least then be sites. Many of the original sites from 2013 have since been expanded and/or upgraded. And 120kW in Kayenta would have been better than 0kW.

Anyone else having trouble with TuneIn radio stations?

I could have swore I tried that... I'll try again, thanks.

Anyone else having trouble with TuneIn radio stations?

Interesting indeed, and doesn't seem like a coincidence. You just called your local service center or the main line?

Anyone else having trouble with TuneIn radio stations?

For the last several weeks now, I have been unable to play internet based radio stations found under the TuneIn section. When I try one of my saved stations, it spins for a while, then the whole music section locks up and becomes unresponsive for several minutes before I can try something else...

    Strategy on Long Drive

I won't forget one trip from San Jose, CA to Paso Robles, CA. Only about 140 miles, but I wasn't fully charged to begin with. The nav was set on charging in Gilroy, which after only about 30 miles would put me in Gilroy with still a bit high SOC, making for slower charging, and would put me in...

    Supercharger - Kayenta, AZ

Hmm... might be elevation changes on that route causing increased consumption?
  14. T

    Supercharger - Kayenta, AZ

What route did you take? Google maps tells me 191 to 160 to 98, but you can save 5 miles (on paper anyway) by going 191 to 163 to 160 to 98 (going via Monument Valley).

No Netflix after FSD upgrade - TeslaCam not working well

I think this is it. On our X from December 2016, I see stop signs, traffic lights, etc., and that is turned on in Settings.

No Netflix after FSD upgrade - TeslaCam not working well

No need. As stated in my original post, a force-reboot (two-thumb salute) sorted the issue.

No Netflix after FSD upgrade - TeslaCam not working well

Sorry if this is a duplicate entry of someone else, just wanted to compare notes with others. Had my December 2016 X 90D in for the FSD upgrade. Noticed a couple of things. 1. Bluetooth connectivity was non-existent and car would not see my phone, even after deleting it from memory. A...

    Supercharger - Kayenta, AZ

This one would be a great connector for tourism travel between Grand Canyon and Monument Valley, so I think it would be worthwhile (but I'm biased...).
  23. T

Can a non-US citizen, own & register a Tesla with the DMV on a tourist visa?

Not sure if this is true. I know you can get a SSN without a work permit. The card will state "Not valid for employment", but you can still get a number since that's needed for bank accounts and other non-employment related stuff.

    Supercharger - Kayenta, AZ

Bumping this thread... Kayenta is on Tesla's map as "Target opening in 2020". Curious if it's imminent, but looking at the age of this thread I'm not getting optimistic.

Video from test ride in Model Y

Everything was pretty rushed and all, but I'd say it was notably easier to get in and out of the Y than the 3, maybe even the S. How much higher... Tough to say, but enough that you'd notice it. It had an SUV kind of feeling in the backseat, and for a tall guy like me (6' and a fraction), it...

Video from test ride in Model Y

No they didn't open that hatch that I could see during the test rides, but made several pointers that it was a proper hatchback, like the S and X.

Video from test ride in Model Y

During the test rides nobody rode in the third row, so I don't know. They did have people in the third row when the car drove up on stage though.

Video from test ride in Model Y

Quite, much better than the 3, obviously not as much as the X. The key difference was that you sat higher, that the seat was farther up from the floor. The driver alludes to this in the beginning of the video too, the car had Model 3 seats sitting on risers.

Towed Teslas at SFO, after getting unplugged?

When I parked at SFO about six years ago, I managed to find a spot at the far end of the short-term parking that was within reach of a 120-outlet, so I used that. Took it a couple of days to fill my battery and then protected me from vampire drain. Note that this was not an EV marked spot or...

    2012 Model S 85 $35,000

Only two prospective buyers really. One that basically matched the trade-in offer, and one that came late in the process (a few days before delivery) who seemed serious but was out of state and hadn't seen the car yet, so I decided to play it safe. Didn't want to take the chance of being stuck...

    2012 Model S 85 $35,000

Almost six years after taking delivery in Fremont, we have come full circle with our Model S. The Model X takes care of the hauling and it's bigger than I need, so I'm updating to Model 3. In case someone here is interested in outbidding Tesla's trade-in value, I thought I'd post it here. She...

A sensible conversation about referral codes in signatures.

So could the signature then say "please go to my profile if you want to use my referral code"? Sorry, just playing devil's advocate... It's not my site so I don't make the rules, but personally I don't see the harm in people having their referral codes in their signature. I've had one (and only...

Hmm... screenshot from Model 3 Underlining mine. It doesn't prove it either way, but I'm thinking if the standard seats were heated, they wouldn't be coy about it.

    Model 3 Handover Event -- July 28, 2017

I sure hope so, more than once I have been splashed by the car next to me and had to throw myself on the wiper stalk to see anything. It would suck to have to chase down a button behind a setting someplace in the situation. However, when I played with the screen, it was a button that started...

Just in case you haven't seen enough ride-along videos yet, here's mine. Mostly mucking with the screen, including the settings for vents (which was weird) and other basic stuff... like wipers, which are controlled only from the screen.

Car wash staff didn't want to send car through

These guys have some sort of felt brushes that works for Teslas. We've been taking our Model S there for four years with great results, so I trust them on the wash. (Classic Car Wash on Almaden for the locals) We've taken the X there a handful of times without trouble, but at the alternate...

Car wash staff didn't want to send car through

Just checking if anyone else had this happen... My wife took our X to a new car wash, and they strongly urged her to do a hand wash. Apparently they had a previous X go through the regular wash and the spoiler got ruined. (Static spoiler, not the folding performance version.) We've taken the...
