Wow. Presumably done to allow cooling to be done outside? Then again, these are big parts, so storing them inside might simply be a waste of space.

Seems like a lot of WIP inventory.
My initial thought back when they started doing this was that the reason for stockpiling was they were worried about the Russian gas shutoff, which is used for aluminum melting. But Europe has had a mild winter with no shortage of natural gas supplies. Maybe they just make them in huge runs?

Ah, that's a good guess. You never know when the German govt is going to curtail natural gas use for industrial processes. It could literally happen at any time.
