Glove box contents upon delivery

Ahh... ok that makes sense. I didnt read it that way, obviously, lol...

Hmm.. I dont remember if there was anything in my glove compartment on delivery. There definitely was NOT that "dead tree manual" you mention that I always got with my BMWs for example. I had the bag with the mobile charger and adapters that came with my car in the sub trunk area of the trunk, but thats all I specifically remember.

According to the M3 details in "manage my Tesla account," it states under "glovebox", owners manual, MF purchase agreement, owners agreement, and insurance? I assumed these are the things we would find in the glove box when the car arrived. We found a roadside assistance manual and a safety information booklet that was it. Where would i find our Manufacturers certificate of origin, and some document from Tesla indicating that the car has been paid for? Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks

The "glovebox" stuff on line is just a term they use for the stuff they are storing there. It does not signify what would come in the actual cars glovebox. They are just using that as an online metaphor for documents and such.

You find the proof the car has been paid for online, in your account, under the glovebox (download the document from there). I have never looked for or cared about "manufacturers origin" so have no idea about that document.

When I got my Model 3 back in Nov 2018, there were a couple of "dead-tree" manuals, believe they were related to the warranty and to what my rights were if I had a dispute with Tesla. Likely mandatory documents, either by the state (I live in the People's Socialist Republic of California), or the federal government. There was no owners manual, as that is on line (in fact, OP, if you haven't got your car yet, recommend you download the manual and start reading it now, before you get your car). Oh, and there was also a cleaning cloth for the screen, folded up neatly in a sealed plastic bag. Since then, all I've added is my current registration, insurance card, and a spare mask (just added this last one in the last couple of months).

Our Tesla has arrived. I am wondering what items are supposed to be in the glove box? Thanks
Every vehicle I have purchased in the past 20 years has had a Owners Manual, warranty booklet and lugnut lock keys.

Tesla will not have anything as they do electronic manuals and don't include locking lugnuts. Be sure to download the current warranty and keep it in a safe place as they have changed it in the past and what it was when you got your car is what applies to your car. Not what they change it to later on.

I just got my new model 3 on the 25th of September (it was made early September) and had owners manual book, cleaning cloth for screen. That is what should be there.

Nope not there! Seems like a lot of missing stuff. We got a message from Tesla stating that a package should arrive in 7-10 days. . We have been unable to register the car because we do not have the title. What to hell??? If we can not legally drive the car without the title, and we only have 7 days to 'check out the car'. Does everyone have this issue? Just when are we supposed to get the title, and where does it come from? This is starting to upset me. We still have not been credited for our $1K deposit that seems to have gotten lost. I just keep getting handed off to someone else who is sure they can solve the problem. Then no more response until I kick the ball back in the field 3-4 times, then I get a response. One employee emailed me and said he 'would have a check cut', and send it off. I think his name was Brandon. That was in July.
They claim to have returned the $1K back in Feb. Problem is the last 4 digits of the debit card they sent the $ to are not mine.
Oh well, still can't 'legally' drive the car. ;=\

We didn't get our title/paperwork from Tesla for several weeks. My temporary license plate expired in a week. I drove around for a few weeks without being properly registered. Of course here in Montana, no one cares. So there's that. The odds of being stopped by someone who gives a sh*t is pretty low.

I should add that I picked up my new P3D- from Tesla in Seattle/Bellevue and drove back to Montana. Tesla put on the temporary plates. Meaning they should have known they would not get the title to me before those plates expired. I thought that was a bit sloppy but hey, what's the fun of driving if you're not breaking the law, right? Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it, you can probably outrun the cops..........

Ha Ha...I did that once. Not going to try my luck again.

We did not get any temporary plate. Having trouble getting responses to my inquiries. If I have issues with the car, who do I call? Can't drive the car so how are we supposed to know if there are any issues? Does every buyer have to wait 'a week or two' for the title to arrive? In Vermont the title is required to register the car. Sooo here we sit, and the car sits till Tesla can get their *sugar* together and send us our paperwork ( and the $1K they owe me). If we do not have the car registered by the end of the month, our insurance co. is cancelling our policy.

That's not true at all.

Yes, your title proves that you own the car but no one checks that until you resell it. The title comes from your state, not Tesla.
You should have gotten a temporary registration sticker in your car so you can drive it. You don't have to register the car yourself, it was all done by Tesla.
