Going to purchase "new" 100D 2018 non-raven. Is this a mistake?

So just an update, I picked up my "new inventory" 2018 100D today. All I can say is I am so very glad my wife and I made this decision. The ride quality is definitely smooth enough for me personally, and I'm a happy camper with the unlimited supercharging. Although apparently FUSC doesn't kick in until July 1st for whatever reason. Anyway, thanks everyone for your input. I hope to contribute and share my learning experiences with future Tesla or potential MS owners as so many have done for me on TMC!
Congrats on the purchase. I'm sure you will be very happy with it and have that Tesla Grin plastered over your face right now.

Honestly $66k seems a bit high. Only $9k more to get a lot more, no questions about the low mileage and showroom status, new car smell, minus EAP. Makes me feel pretty good about $46k for my carmax trade in of a 2017 100D with coil suspension, textile seats, and 53k miles tho.
If you read his posts, he was stretching to afford the 2018 car and buying a new Raven was really out of his price range. It may be "only $9K more" to you, but for a lot of people, $9K is a lot of money and the difference between affording a Tesla or not.

That's a great deal, especially if they are selling you the car as a NEW CAR with the full new car warranty. That's a great find!

I personally would like to have a Model S with a panoramic sunroof that the Ravel suspension plus front motor. 90% of my driving is around town and I use the the sunroof quite extensively about 7 months of the year.

After getting used to the sunroof I find cars with a sealed glass roof to be almost cave-like :p

Also great you are getting unlimited SC. DO you know if the car has MCU 2.0 (the center display)?

yep!

@drklain, You need not justify your choices to anyone here. And you didn't need to remind you of that. Everyone that contributed an opinion was simply giving you the best of what they have learned already owning a Tesla. I doubt anyone here will be disappointed if your choice is not a reflection of their advice. All we simply trying to help. If you are happy, go for it.
Mahalo brother!

Not sure why this is even asked. New 100D is 75K by 67K for 2018 lacking a lot of the new updates the brand new car provides. Seems to me like a no brainer NOT to buy the 2018 car. If it was 60K then maybe... but even then it is not that great of a deal. Keep in mind battery degrades regardless if you use it or not. So you already have a 2 years degradation on the battery already. Pony up the extra money for a much better car.

OP already bought so really no need to further debate.

However, I was wondering if you had examples of where someone could buy even a used very low mileage 2018 MS 100D with EAP and full 4/50 warranty for your $60k number?

@CapeOne you can try contacting a Tesla advisor to see if they can pull up an inventory or test drive vehicle not currently listed in the Tesla inventory page. The FUSC promo ends in a few days but I would think they would bring it back from time to time. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the input, but I’m content :)

That would be a way to go but I was really just commenting that I thought his $60k figure for the car you bought was too low i.e., even used low mileage 2018 100Ds with EAP and 4/50 warranty would go for more than $60k.

The $75k new car does not have EAP, Pano, free unlimited SC, nor decent looking wheels. So it’s not exactly apples to apples at that price.
