I agree, we went to one of our favorite restaurants in Napa on Wednesday and they said it would be a 1/2 hour wait because they were short staff. In Sonoma there are lots of help wanted signs, if you give people extended benefits why would they want to go back to work. After I got out of the Army I went back to college, had to commute carried a full schedule some classes were at night and worked a job in between to afford college. My wife was always expected to go to college and her parents paid for it, she does not appreciate her education as much as I do because I had to work my butt off to get my degree.
totally agree. I worked 3 jobs 70 hours a week and went to college.
I went to college and got out in 3 year! Took 25 plus units a quarter. Worked full time in summer and went to night school at UCLA.
I got out of college with NO debt! Owned my first home at 35! Retired at 52. No one gave me a thing! I worked my butt off. So all this talk
of working wage is a joke!!!!! Look at the poor folks in other countries, now they are poor.
If the system would have given me free money, would I have worked all those jobs and hours as a teenager? Probably not, why.
Yep, most folks went to college and partied, because either the parents or system paid for it all! Now, my parents did pay 50%, but the rest was on me, which is why I worked SO hard to get out in 3 years. Know anyone else who graduated from college in 3 years!
I feel so bad for my grandkids. The debt they will have to pay off. And worse, the chances that another country takes of the US because we have become so soft!!
The kids the last 50 years have not have to fight for freedom and watch their friends die!! I just missed the draft by 2 years. I got lucky!!
